I believe I am an ideal candidate for your advertised English teaching position. I received my 165 hour Level 5 certification in July of 2020 and I have a Bachelors degree in Sociology.

As a relatively new graduate I hope to begin my abroad English teaching career and would love the opportunity to work for your school program.

I am passionate about education and excited to get to know you and your team. I have my Bachelor's degree from a top tier university in the U.S. as well as my TEFL certification. I am currently working as a private English tutor in the U.S. where I work with one six year old student and one four year old student on English language and reading skills. During my short time in this role both students saw remarkable improvements to their reading skills. My six year old student, who was unable to read at the start of our tutoring sessions, is now reading 20 words per minute despite having dyslexia. I am also working as a private nanny to a one year old child. Each day we work on his acquisition of motor and language skills both of which have drastically improved during my time in this position. While at university, I was also able to work as an Assistant to the Instructor for the Department of Sociology at Washington University in St. Louis. In this role I assisted the instructor in developing lesson plans, assignments and examinations. I was also responsible for evaluating student work, managing the course website, proctoring examinations and providing individual instruction for students who were in need. Through these experiences I was able to develop the organizational, communication and interpersonal skills that will make me an excellent educator in your school. I have experience creating lesson plans and student evaluations which adequately reflect not only their work but also their potential for growth. My rigorous undergraduate education has given me a higher-level knowledge of the English language that will surely benefit my students, while my study and experience of American culture will allow me to provide students the skills they need to assimilate if working in the U.S. is their personal goal. Finally, I have shown my integrity and judgement during my various job experiences that I would love to bring to this position. I have traveled to three of the world’s continents and, therefore, have the ability to respect and thrive in other cultures while learning as much as possible from all of the people around me, especially my students.

I consider myself to be a hard working and enthusiastic individual. I have approached many experiences and opportunities in life with a positive attitude, willing to give anything a go. Although I am very confident in myself, I am not an overly loud or outspoken person. My preference when communicating with others is to listen and reflect on the conversation before responding whenever this is possible, as it makes for clearer communicating. I feel this to be a positive attribute, especially in teaching, as it allows me to connect with others and really understand them.

Having qualified for my TEFL certificate at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, I have not yet had much opportunity to use my newly qualified skills. However, I feel that my university degree and my experience in informal learning settings has given me ideas on how I would approach teaching. I would emphasise confidence building and creating a positive learning environment for the students. This will allow them to explore the language they are learning without fear of reprimand or humiliation.

I am confident in my communication skills as throughout my life I have had a variety of experiences in which to practice. One key experience is that my sister has autism, which has meant that I have had to learn how to communicate with her as an individual. This can apply to language teaching, as a lot of what I say is very clear and precise as a result of communicating with her for many years. Another example of this is when I went to Zambia and helped run a children's camp. The children did not speak English, nor did I speak Bemba, but through enunciated words and clear non verbal communication we were able to successfully communicate together.

One of my biggest strengths is my ability to fit in with people from different cultures. I have travelled the world through working on a cruise ship. I am a flexible and hardworking person and also a quick learner. I am a trustworthy person, who just loves living life. In every job that I have worked I have always strived to give my absolute best and the people I have worked with would attest to that. I am a person that people want to be around and I work hard for the overall goal of the team or the company I work for.

I am Nonhlanhla and I recently graduated from the University of Pretoria with a BA Languages degree. I have spent the past year working on getting my TEFL certification and managed to obtain that during my time in lockdown. I am a passionate writer, reader, teacher and learner.
I am an enthusiastic individual with a burning passion for languages. Be it written, spoken or learning languages, I thrive in an environment filled with words.
I pride myself in the quality of work I produce and my willingness to learn new skills. I dedicate myself fully to tasks at hand and deliver efficiently, with a smile on my face.

I'm a friendly, outgoing, organized educator who loves to incorporate singing and dancing in her classroom. I have been teaching for about 4 years and love every moment of it. I have been the English homeroom teacher for classes in China and Japan. I have high energy to match that of my students and can create fun and unique lesson plans for my lessons. I am well versed in classroom management skills, early child education pedagogy and have strong communication skills. I have been involved in testing across the grade, organizing student showcases and patent teacher conferences.

I have extensive experience working as an ESL teacher. I worked at an afterschool English school in Japan for six months in 2020. I taught English to children from 3 – 17 years old. There was a high degree of responsibility included in the job as I was the only teacher in room with as many as 12 young students.

In terms of my personality, I would say I am kind, compassionate and patient. I love working with children, especially teaching. It is very satisfying when they start to understand what you are teaching them and they can use the language they are taught.

I am an avid learner of languages. I know four languages at the moment: English, German, Serbian and Japanese. I would be interested in also learning Korean in the near future.
I am currently working on my level 5 TEFL certificate which I will finish this month.
