Because I grew up in Seattle, Washington, I speak English at a native level. I have experience teaching at Huntington Learning Center in Bothell, Washington.

I am a recently qualified TEFL teacher (I gained my qualification through The TEFL Org), finishing in October 2020. Despite my little in-person teaching experience, I am ready to become fully immersed into the world of TEFL. I taught conversational English to non-British people in my local area in 2018, and in January of this year I began teaching English online. I have wanted to move to South Korea for a while now yet due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I have been unable to. However, I am ready and willing to start the journey and I cannot wait for the possibility of teaching. I would say that I am a very warm, sociable and friendly person who thrives on being around people. What I am equally looking forward to, however, is the cultural exchange; my endeavour to learn Korean gradually is one step towards this! My History degree equipped me well with confidence, the ability to communicate, and being easily adaptable. My open-mindedness and willingness for hard work will no doubt aid me in my attempt to really succeed in a school, and I cannot wait for the opportunity to show this.

I am CELTA certified and have experience teaching pre- and upper-intermediate multilingual classes of students, tailoring lessons according to research and analysis of student need, employing original and authentic texts, and creating activities targeting receptive and productive skills and language systems.
I have a very friendly, professional, and approachable personality that helps a lot when teaching. I also love children and interacting with them, which is why I have always had a passion for teaching. Through this, I am excellent at working and collaborating with others.
In terms of skills, I have advanced reading, writing, and editing comprehension, strong time management and adaptability skills, and the ability to develop teaching resources. Overall, I have a strong desire to teach and learn.

I have experience teaching a year of Bio 201 Anatomy physiology, CHS 101 (1 semester) and Kin 101( 1 semester). through this experience I have hosted office hours, created exams, proctored, graded, and facilitated 2 hour blocked learning. I am an adept teacher able to present effective lesson plans.

Through the Scottsdale Public Library I read and performed picture books around Arizona to promote literacy and early reading development.

For the last 4 years I've taught competetive swimming through scottsdale aquatics club working with advance 12-15 year old athletes.

I taught in an ASU university anatomy lab for 1 year showcasing the human body and teaching BIO 201 curriculum. This involved creating exams, grading, teaching in 2 hour segments, hosting office hours, answering emails etc.

Through the Scottsdale public library system I read children's literature during story time advocating literacy for underprivileged children throughout the Arizona/Glendale community.

I am passionate about helping others and excelling in any job position that I hold. I take pride in my work and like to reflect on my performance to increase my abilities. I like to work in a team environment where I can learn from others and help others to succeed. I am a hard worker who is always looking to move up in my position.

I have my bachelors degree from the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire in education. My degree is to teach grades 1-8 and have a minor in social studies. I have received my psychology certificate from Northcentral Technical College. I recently completed my 168 hour TEFL certification in February 2021.

This is my sixth year as a full time teacher. I have worked full time in the same school during those years. Throughout my time at this school I have taught first, fourth, and fifth grade. I have taught fourth and fifth grade two years each. For five of those years I have also been the fourth, fifth, and sixth grade social studies teacher. The past two years I have been overseeing our intervention reading program for students throughout the school in various grades. I have participated in creating many programs and activities for the school for the children to participate in. I worked with a co-teacher to run a STEM club after school, helped with a volleyball and basketball club, created and ran the schools student council, and created and taught the four week summer school program for the school; which included educational and physical activities/learning.

I am especially interested in social studies and teaching students about different cultures and people from around the world. This interest has led me to enjoy traveling and wanting to pursue this venture of teaching English as a foreign language in another country. I would be able to help others learn a valuable language, but also experience a new place and culture.

I discovered my passion for teaching whilst I was in secondary school, watching my psychology teacher teach the classroom inspired me to later pursue a degree in teaching. I am in the process of completing a degree in Education and Psychology. This degree has provided me with the opportunity to gain experience in teaching young people and assisting the wellbeing of individual students. My passion for teaching and leadership grew when I was presented with the opportunity to lead 2 youth teams at my church. During this time, I developed my communication skills and it also helped me to be disciplined and patient when leading a team of people from different backgrounds.
The experiences I gained from these rolls as well as my studies has helped me to develop the skills to discern the needs of those around me and to be able to offer them the support they need.

My interest in teaching began in church through teaching Sunday School in my teen years. I learnt how to speak in front of a large congregation as well as smaller classes. I also taught a variety of age groups from pre-school kids to adults.

This built my confidence and when I became a young adult I was voted as the youth leader in my church. As part of my role, I had to maintain a good level of communication within the team and developed my leadership skills through planning events and classes every Sunday.

During my time at university, I was a active member of the Law society committee and the Korean Culture society committee. My roles on both committees included planning social invents, leading classes and having a good rapport with people from different social, cultural, and economical backgrounds.

My ambivert nature is part of the reason I have been able to excel in the above roles and other ventures. I am able to listen and pinpoint the needs of the people that are in my care and at the same time provide a reassuring voice when it comes to leading people in my team.

Although, having decided to change careers in late 2019, i have little classroom experience, i have a burning passion for learning, and sharing knowledge. Since graduating from university i have spent much energy deciding how i can be of most use to the world. A wise teacher of mine once suggested that when picking a career; one should seek to find a purpose that optimises one's utility. I can think of few more noble professions than educating young people who will one day shape the world.
I am an extremely open, warm, outgoing individual who enjoys meeting new people and taking on new challenges. I love to make people laugh, and to make people think. it is important to me that i do things to the fullest of my ability, and i encourage those around me to do the same. During my time working in the hospitality sector, both in the UK and Australia, my peers and staff have looked to me for leadership, to which i have always obliged with enthusiasm and compassion. Most of my roles have involved teaching colleagues in some capacity, improving their knowledge of the industry, products, customer service, marketing, as well as many technical skills.
