ESL Teachers

Thank you for the consideration of my application. I am a native English speaker and have acquired my TEFL certificate, TESOL Certificate and Bachelors's Degree. I am currently an online English teacher with experience in teaching adults and kids at all levels and age groups.

I have always had a passion for interacting and engaging with people and have gained experience in the communications field for 8 years.

I have taught English across the world and my experience has allowed me to adapt well to students of different ages, language levels and nationalities.

My goals are to guide, motivate and inspire students in achieving their individual language goals and to create a dynamic educational experience for all learners.

I am applying to be an International English Teacher in South Korea as I am very passionate about having diverse experience while working with children in educational settings.

My credentials include a bachelor’s degree in education (Early Years) along with a Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) certificate. I have experience in working with children as a teacher/early years practitioner for 5 years.

I pride myself to have an excellent teaching practices based on my knowledge and experiences, especially with children and I strive to be creative with the children that may extra help in learning. I am wholly committed to being involved in collective working environments and believe that it takes a group to educate rather than a single person.

I have great technological literacy and can work with any type of computer system or network. My communication skills, both written and verbal, are very good which is needed when dealing with many children.

I am currently teaching at a prestigious kindergarten in Hong Kong and have been doing so for the past 3 years. Prior to this I was working with Oxford International, a company that provides language programmes for international students in the UK. Whilst working with them I was lucky enough to be given different job roles through the years. I started out as an Activity Leader, then became Onsite Activity Coordinator and ultimately was given the role of Programme Coordinator.
Finally, whilst studying at university and before that at high school I have always had private tutoring jobs.

All of this teaching experience has made me into someone who is very understanding and sensitive to students’ needs. It has also allowed me to develop effective communication and lesson planning skills which will ultimately allow students to keep focused and motivated. Above all I feel I have gained an enormous amount of patience and empathy for children.

I pride myself of being described as hard working and reliable by all previous employers as I believe professionalism in the workplace is the key to success. My ultimate goal is to foster an maintain and open, honest , communicative and supportive classroom in which each student feels safe , secure, special an appropriately challenged.

In 2015 I started volunteering at New Season Foundation. This particular foundation is a non-profit organisation aimed at improving the lives of the youth in South Africa. My role at the foundation was to assist my students with their numeracy and literacy skills during an afterschool programme.

I tutored students between grades R to 5. Each day I would plan and present lessons based on the work they were being taught at school. The majority of my students struggled with the English language as they were mainly Afrikaans speaking. My lessons therefore largely revolved around teaching them to understand the language effectively.

I always tried to make my lessons relatable and interesting. At the end of each week I would create a challenge and divide the class into two teams, the winning team would win a prize and at the end of each month I would create a quiz and the student who scored the highest marks wins a prize. Apart from being a tutor, I also played a supportive role in the lives of my students as I ensured that I understood and catered to their individual learning needs.

Being a university student, a volunteer tutor, a paralegal, a legal secretary and a personal assistant proved me to be a fast learner, resilient, and able to adapt to any situation. I am great at interacting with people, I have a great attitude and I have the ability to work well in a team. I am an all-rounder and I'm great at multitasking. I am attentive, meticulous, creative and diligent.

I have worked with children for 4 years now through employment and volunteer experiences. I currently take on the role as an Early Childhood Educator and work with a range of age groups from Preschool to School Age at a child care centre. Responsibilities include working with staff to create an inclusive environment that caters to the needs of all children and engaging with children in curriculum.

I do not have experience teaching English however, I am currently in the process of completing my TEFL certification and very committed in learning and gaining skills. In addition to that, I am able to communicate and work with children and families, and plan meaningful emergent curriculum. I am also patient, reliable, and able to work as a team

I hope to have the opportunity provide an enriching environment to allow children to learn and develop skills in English. Making a difference in the learning and development of children is very important to me.

I currently hold a Bachelor degree in Logistics & supply chain management along with a master degree in Business administration. I am very familiar with communicating and leading large crowds of people.
I worked at a summer camp for many years and also have experience working with individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities. This experience has made me very patient in nature and grown my desire to help people. I have worked in the corporate world for over a year, and while I have developed new skills it has not fulfilled my soul.

My strengths would have to be my honesty, loyalty, and patience when it comes to my personality. When it comes to experience I worked for a summer camp on and off for many years. With this, I am able to work with children as well as adults. For my skills, I am an attentive listener. This means that I listen to understand rather than listening to respond. I am currently working on my masters degree in clinical mental health counseling, which I put on hold to live this dream.

Through work and university I have gained many skills which I can transfer over to this role.

First, after years of working within a call-centre environment and working within university groups of many different cultures, I have gained extensive communication skills in discussing ideas, taking on feedback and active listening. I have been able to apply these across different situations, from speaking with customers, lecturers, friends as well as being able to adapt and discuss with fellow students who do not speak english as their native language. Through this time, I have also been able to build up competent teamwork, by engaging with my colleagues on best practice situations and communicating with to resolve problems.

I am sociable, enthusiastic and driven to help others. I am a competent worker but also easy to get along with, and enjoy getting to know colleagues and people I spend a lot of time with well. I believe these skills and experiences can transfer over to this role in being a competent English language teacher.
