I graduated in the top 10% of my class from McGill University’s Faculty of Law, earning placement on the Dean’s Honour List. During college, I received the Distinction Brébeuf, and in high school, I was awarded the Lieutenant Governor’s Youth Medal in recognition of academic excellence and leadership.

My background includes research, public service, and editorial coordination. I’ve worked in professional settings in New York and The Hague, and I am fluent in English, with intermediate Korean. These experiences have helped me develop strong communication, writing, and organizational skills.

I bring a strong foundation in education, social care, and community engagement, shaped by years of hands-on experience supporting young learners, vulnerable adults, and marginalised groups. My journey began with peer mentoring and tutoring during secondary school, followed by volunteering with Springboard for Children to deliver one-to-one support to SEN pupils. I’ve since worked with care leavers in supported housing, encouraging educational participation and personal growth, and with vulnerable adults in the charity sector – supporting them to overcome communication barriers by facilitating access to translation tools, culturally specific services, and inclusive community groups.

Driven by compassion and a deep belief in the power of learning, I combine reliability and adaptability with a warm, energetic personality. I thrive in environments that call for creativity, empathy, and initiative – whether facilitating classroom activities, designing workshops, or promoting engagement in the wider community. I am a highly motivated and punctual person who brings a positive energy to my work. I also have experience helping children learn via tutoring experience for my neighbors. I believe these experiences and personality traits make me a great candidate for this position.

I have three + years' experience teaching English in South Korea, specifically in Daegu. I've worked for two different hagwon, as well as a year-and-a-half at Yeong Jin College.

My teaching style can best be described as positive and energetic. I find it best for students to be engaged during class; this typically results in more class participation by my students. Creating enthusiasm about English, I find, makes for a more enriched learning experience.

I speak clearly and with a moderate pace, allowing students to keep up and understand everything. I have strong grammar skills that can also help in my classrooms.

I am open to different teaching styles, if a school has a specific style in mind. I am open-minded and patient with my students, allowing them to advance at their own pace.

Although I am older than many of your applicants, I believe my maturity and experience would be an asset to any school.

I did not know I wanted to be a teacher until I graduated high school. When I realized my talent for teaching, I enrolled in Kennesaw State University and majored in English. I became even more passionate about language, writing and literature through my college career. To gain valuable classroom experience, I began working as a substitute teacher, teaching all grades from pre-school to high school seniors. During this time, one of the elementary schools I worked at most often asked me to join their staff as a language paraprofessional. My time as a paraprofessional educator honed my skills with young learners and taught me how to forge connections with students while also maintaining a professional and disciplined stance as a teacher. I now have a total of four years of classroom experience, including one year in teaching a foreign language. I believe my passion for education and organized personality makes me a great fit to become an English teacher.
