I have been a teacher for 3 years, and for the past 1 year I have been teaching English speaking, writing, listening, literature, etc. in Hwaseong-si, Gyeonggi-do. I have taught students as young at 2nd grade all the way to 10th grade, and am 150-hour TEFL certified. I love working with students and am a fast and passionate learner. I am creative in the classroom and take the time to connect with my students to ensure they do the best in the classroom.

Specifically, my skills lie in teaching full course loads and serving as an advisor of the English language. My forte is planning, preparing, and teaching well-developed English lessons that enthuse and inspire students. I am a Bachelor of Arts graduate, so I know how to work with the mind and body and will use this to help the students be comfortable in every lesson they have with me to be the best they can be. I am also competent in selecting and sequencing appropriate materials and approaches according to the course area and the individual requirements of students. Furthermore, maintaining current lesson plans and assessment data such as grades and attendance is also an area that I am well-versed in.
My passion can further be determined by my ability to design, administer, and evaluate a range of formative, and summative assessments. I am poised to teach students English language skills in areas such as listening, reading, speaking, and writing.

What draws me to education is difficult to describe: it has been such a ubiquitous facet of my life, I do not know there is any truly effable distillation of what drives me as an educator. I graduated from Rhodes University in South Africa with a bachelor of social science degree, majoring in psychology and sociology. During the time I was at Rhodes I served as a wellness leader at my residence which was a program aimed at promoting wellness through the student community for all students. My responsibility as a wellness leader was to act as the liaison between the student body and the division of wellness at Rhodes University. In 2016, I was also involved in a program called Inkwenkwezi where I volunteered in tutoring at a primary school in Grahamstown, which is a small town where my University is situated. Currently, I tutor English online to students from all around the world. My students include people of different ages and linguistic backgrounds.

I believe that I am suitable for this job because I have gained experience in working with people when I served as a wellness leader. I consider myself to be a hard worker. I am good at communicating, organising, prioritising as well as multitasking. I am a patient and responsible person.

My name is Lethuxolo Ndalenhle Thomo, but most people call me ‘Lethu’. I am from South Africa. I recently completed my postgraduate studies in Political Science with an undergraduate degree in Humanities, majoring in English Studies and Political Science. I also recently completed my 120-hour TEFL certification in the hopes that I can begin teaching English abroad. I would like to begin my teaching career abroad is because I would like to experience different cultures and learn all about them. I have never left my home country and would like to learn about the world while helping students with the English language. I would also like to pass on things that I have learned in my culture to other citizens and leave a lasting impression as an English teacher. My mother was also an English teacher and she inspired me to help where I am good, and I am good at English, just like her.

I believe I am well-equipped for this position because I have excellent social skills and establish good relationships with those around me. I love to help and find peace in making the lives of those around me, especially my students, a little better. With my knowledge of the English language I can navigate the different and complex ways in which it is used and conceptualise it in a way that students can understand. I hold a Master’s Degree in Teaching, have 12 years of full-time teaching experience and am a licensed teacher in Colorado, USA. I am TEFL certified and have a certification in Teaching Business English. I have lived abroad (in the UAE) and taught English Language Learners.

I am a very encouraging, patient, and creative person which is why I feel like I would be very suited to an English Teacher role. I decided to train to be a teacher as I want to do something worthwhile and share my enthusiasm for learning. I am also very calm and positive so in stressful situations or fast-paced environments I can stay focused. I have experience in both Secondary and Primary education as during my PGCE course I have been on placements in two secondary schools where I taught a range of students with varying abilities. I have also had a primary experience day where primary school children came to the university and I taught them lessons and I have taught primary school children French for six weeks. I have also had experience working in a college as a Learning Support Worker where I assisted students with learning or behavioural difficulties in various subjects such as Games Design, Art, English, Mathematics and Music. I have been a tutor in the past where I tutored GCSE and A level students in English Literature to help them pass their exams and coursework.

I have excellent communication skills as I have a degree in English Literature. I would love to share my excitement for language with children and help them become excellent communicators and open up opportunities for them. I also achieved a distinction award in my Art Foundation degree so I have various artistic skills. I love to incorporate visual language into my lessons to help to meet the students' various learning styles.
