I am writing this letter to express my interest in the ESL teaching positions available for late July, August and/ early September, 2024.

I am passionate about education and cultural sensitivity and I a strong desire to make an impact on student's lives through language learning. I love traveling and meeting with new people and learning about their different cultural backgrounds.

I currently hold a 4 year Bachelor of Health sciences in Environmental Health which I obtained from Durban University of Technology. I also completed a 120h TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) Certificate with TEFL Universal.

I’ve worked as an Environmental Health Practitioner at the Airport where I was constantly interacting with passengers from different nations and helping them out with health protocols midst Covid 19 pandemic. I was also tasked with facilitating health educational programs among Airport employees and stakeholders. In late 2022, I was presented with an opportunity to work as an education assistant in my hometown primary school. My tasks included: supporting teachers with lesson planning and preparations as well as supporting the main teacher in managing behaviour in the classroom. This is where I got the opportunity to learn classroom and young learners behavioral management skills.

Although the above experiences may be less related to the ESL teaching industry, I believe that I can apply some of the relevant skills that I acquired from these two workplaces. Those skills include communication, interpersonal, presentations, creativity, report writing, classroom management and organizational skills.

South Korea especially stands out to me because of their rich cultural heritage and diverse traditions. Therefore working in Korea will provide me with an opportunity to be working while traveling and experiencing a different culture in another country.

I have just completed my Bachelor of Education Degree with a Cum Laude specializing in English and Social Science. I am also TEFL qualified with the following certifications: Teaching English online and one on one, Teaching business English and Teaching English to young children. I have experience working with able and special needs learners in the following subjects: Grade 4 mathematics, Grade 7 Social Science, Grade 7 and 9 Creative Arts, Grade 11 History and Grade 7, 9, 10 and 11 Life Orientation and English.

As an educator, I am extremely passionate about what I do. I understand that every learner has different learning needs and that it is my responsibility to cater for those needs the best that I can. I work well under pressure, I am organized and hard working and I can adapt to any situation easily. I work well independently but can also thrive when in a team.

I am a professionally qualified SACE registered Educator with more than ten years teaching experIence in South Africa and two years abroad. I have a Honours Bachelor of Education degree from the University of South Africa. I am presently writing up for my Masters degree in Education. I am passionate about education. Many of my students achieved excellent results in the past and are now in tertiary institutions. I bring out the best in each student and realise that each student is unique and have their own strengths. I am very comfortable in teaching the Primary, Middle, High School or University students. My students have written glowing letters of recommendations to show their appreciation for my teaching methods and strategies. I have taken a difficult language (English) and made it fun and exciting.

Since receiving my TEFL certificate I have been teaching English full-time since the summer of 2022 which has included holiday camps, teaching school, private tutoring, running extra-curricular clubs and organising events.
I have taught in London, Almaty and am currently tutoring online. I have a lot of experience with a wide variety of age groups and levels.
My Bachelor's Degree is in Acting which has given me excellent skills in creating dynamic lessons for my students as well as helping English learners to improve not only their skills but their confidence.
