I am an enthusiastic TEFL-certified teacher with a strong foundation in creating and delivering effective English language lessons. My experience includes developing customized lesson plans and instructional materials tailored to diverse learning needs, ensuring every student can engage and thrive. I am skilled in fostering an inclusive classroom environment that encourages open communication and critical thinking. With a background in technology integration, I bring innovative approaches to teaching, making learning both effective and enjoyable. A recently fully-qualified English Language teacher and chartered surveyor with 12 years PQE, I relocated back to Edinburgh after a decade in London, following a major change in mindset and personal circumstances.

I have decided to focus on the skills and attributes that I enjoy, namely language, culture, education and equality. I have extensive experience as a leader in property, a retail and economics ‘guru’, an organisational engagement expert, results orientated project manager and social inclusion champion. I hopefully bring all of these attributes together to help me achieve my new objectives in the travel, culture, education and language sector.

Whilst studying for my recent qualifications, I have enjoyed working in the hospitality and care sector, taking up casual positions to help me gain new skills and earn money to fund my studies.

I believe that I can bring a mature and professional approach to all aspects of service, ensuring the best standard of care, attention to detail and pragmatism. I am a reliable and communicative team member, who believes that I can offer some excellent organisation skills, especially in the areas of effectiveness, efficiency and accountability.

I have 7 years of experience in photography, education, and customer service, which has allowed me to develop a strong foundation in managing media content, supporting students, and working on creative projects. My roles, from Media Manager to Graduate Assistant, have honed my ability to take on diverse responsibilities, whether it’s creating and curating visual content or assisting in educational settings. My academic journey, culminating in a BA in Photography with First Class Honours, reflects my commitment to achieving high standards in everything I do.

I’m passionate about learning and self-improvement, which drives me to continually enhance my skills and knowledge. I’m communicative, empathetic, and always ready to understand and meet the needs of others. My experience in customer service has taught me the importance of patience and active listening, and I take pride in being a reliable and supportive team player.

I am a dedicated and creative person with an interest in teaching languages. I have worked as an English literacy facilitator at the University of the Free State for over a year. I have a 160 hour TEFL qualification. I have worked with pre-school age children as an Au Paire.

Through my work experience, I have developed skills in cross-cultural communication and assessing language criteria based on the common European framework of reference for languages. I am adept at reviewing assessments and conducting interviews for university applications. I work excellently in large teams and independently and have a wealth of experience in people-facing roles.
In terms of teaching, I have completed a L5 180 hour TEFL certificate and have experience in a primary school setting, assisting pupils aged 5-7 with phonetics, reading and comprehension. I have voluntary experience in an extra curricular club which supports girls between the ages of 6-10 with creativity, expedition and arts and crafts skills.
Personality wise, I am a bubbly, enthusiastic and approachable individual. I have been praised on use of initiative and professionalism and consider myself a strong relationship builder.

I am very excited for the opportunity to teach English abroad in South Korea. I have been a working professional in the music industry for 10 years and have been considering shifting careers into a teaching position since last year. I have built quite the creative skillset due to the artistic nature of my career so far. Innovation, creativity and Empathy are among my greatest assets. In addition, the years spent in various professional environments gives me a different perspective and work ethic than someone who is just starting their professional life.

I have a wealth of experience teaching music in one-on-one private lessons and small group learning environments. My first exposure to teaching was as a TA in University during my Master’s Program. I designed my own syllabus and curriculum based on the resources the school wished for me to use. I taught that class for three semesters. After graduation, I started teaching privately at an after school music academy in Loveland Colorado called the Loveland Academy of Music. My voice studio there consisted of 8-12 students at any given time. I also ran a master class once a month for a small group of up to 5 students for a group lesson. Eventually I opened my own private practice and have been teaching independently ever since.

In addition to those experiences, I also served as the Children’s Director for the Mountain Ancestor’s Grove Church in Longmont Colorado. Through this experience I had the opportunity to plan, prepare, and deliver curriculum and programming for a small group of children of various ages.

Other teaching experiences I have gathered over the years include substitute teaching in Conroe ISD as a part-time substitute teacher and working at a summer camp for St. Bartholomew in Katy Texas, the church that currently employs me. Our classroom at the camp had 40 kids in the 3rd-5th grade levels.

I have three key components that I incorporate into my teaching style; engagement, interaction and most importantly, inclusivity.

Although I have no experience teaching children and young learners per se, I have experience aiding and assisting adults with their written English, especially in articles, essays and scripts.

I have a keen interest in psychology, so I am interested in the bond between a teacher and their student/students on an educational and psychological level.

I have a strong background in acting and improv so implementing entertaining and energetic teaching methods comes naturally to me.

Through multiple years of experience publishing articles, think pieces and YouTube videos for ScreenRant and WhatCulture, I've showcased my understanding and utilisation of receptive and productive skills as well as strong grammar, correct punctuation and advanced vocabulary.
