My name is Thomas Deibele, a UW-Madison graduate who majored in Psychology and Political Science. I found the opening on TEFL.org following my certification and am excited to bring my skills and passion for inter-cultural dynamics to Korea.
In my current role an sos-youth administrator, I coordinate with multiple Asian cultural associations to enhance state nurses cultural literacy while deepening my own. In 2023 as a mental health technician, I honed strong transferable skills such as establishing long-term rapport, immediate problem-solving and establishing clear boundaries. Additionally, my experience as an ESL program team leader provided directly comparable experience teaching. Lastly, I am fortunate to have an immigrant mother and extended family to whom I owe my advanced bilingual level and personal affinity to cross-cultural understanding.
