I hold a degree from Falmouth University, with a Master's Degree from Manchester Metropolitan University, and have a year of teaching experience inside a primary school, alongside my studies to become TEFL qualified. My background has provided me with a strong foundation in educational principles and classroom management techniques. Moreover, I have a deep appreciation for cultural diversity and am eager to immerse myself in the rich culture of South Korea.

My name is Rebecca Romine, and I have been a third grade teacher at my local elementary school for the past 4 years, as well as a second grade co-teacher during the pandemic of the 2020-2021 school year at the same school. During my time here, I have gained experience in developing effective and engaging lesson plans that cater to the diverse learning styles of my students. I have been able to accommodate and scaffold lessons to meet the students' levels of understanding. My fellow teachers of the third grade team have described my teaching style as flexible, and they have said they're impressed to see students that typically struggle flourish within my classroom. My classroom vision is to continually build positive rapports with any student that walks through my door with the goal of making learning fun through teamwork and collaboration. Especially with younger students, it is important to remind them that they're never learning alone and that we are going to work to learn new things together.

I am a dedicated public service professional with years of experience coaching and mentoring swimmers and managing employees. My background has equipped me with strong leadership, communication, and instructional skills, working across age groups. As a swim coach, I wrote practices, guided learners of various ages, and adapted teaching methods to meet individual needs, skills that helped me in my language learning. Similarly, I taught technology concepts to senior citizens through my tech-skills class with Americorps. My interest in TEFL stems from a lifelong passion for cultural exchange and helping others meet their potential. By understanding others, we can better understand and improve our country and ourselves. Pursuing TEFL represents a natural next step in my service-driven career, allowing me to empower others through education while immersing myself in new cultures.
