I have extensive experience teaching English to a variety of people. In my university, I was involved in several programs to help international students learn and improve their English skills, and I have personally taught several of these students: not only teaching them English, but also teaching them about life in the United States and helping them to adapt to the local culture.

I have developed a unique skill set that is well-suited for this job. I will use the skills I have gained in my management degree program to manage and optimize time spent teaching the curriculum so that the students will remain active and engaged throughout the class time. My anthropology courses provided me with the skills to interface with people from a wide variety of cultural and linguistic backgrounds which I practice every day.

Through my extensive campus involvement, I have developed strong leadership skills which are easily applicable to the classroom. Both in my work and in my university courses, I have consistently demonstrated a capacity to lead groups of people towards a common goal.

I have a very happy, outgoing, and compassionate personality, and I genuinely enjoy the privilege of teaching people new things. I am patient and kind, and I can adapt my approach to suit individual needs. Because of this, I work well with people from children to adults.

I have extensive experience in different branches of education, ranging from one-on-one classes, to workshops of thirty or more. I currently teach English to Chinese students using online software, with a wide range of ages stretching from two to eighteen years old. I have delivered lessons to absolute beginners in a discipline, where it is crucial to break the ice and appear warm and approachable. I have designed and implemented a music curriculum for a youth course named Rock Academy of at least thirty children of varying ages and abilities. A great passion of mine is working with young people to push them to succeed, and I have met a great range of young people, from many different backgrounds, and have encountered a host of challenges in trying to ensure that each young person can reach their maximum potential. I feel that the wealth of experience I have gained from teaching this range of ages and backgrounds will equip me well for a move abroad, where I can apply what I have learnt directly in the classroom.
I consider myself an adaptable individual, as I am comfortable both meeting new people, and visiting new areas. I feel that I am extremely proactive at tackling a language barrier, which is a considerable factor of being abroad. Every step of my employment history has demanded of me a high standard of personal adaptability and ability to meet new people, and swiftly build a rapport with them. I consider myself creative and fun-loving; I am passionate about music, photography, and graphic design.
Through my time DaDaABC, Rock Academy, and Feline Good Café, I have developed a strong ability to balance professionalism and approachability; I am a warm individual for students or customers to talk to, but I always maintain a sense of outgoing professionalism. I would consider myself extremely organised, able to micromanage without losing track of overarching aims and goals. Additionally, I am tech-proficient, comfortable with MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite, music production software, as well as both MacOS and Windows.

Taking into consideration the education I have attained over the past 4 years, I believe I will be able to apply appropriate and successful teaching methodologies. My strong initiative and exceptional organizational skills combined with my ability to work well under pressure allow me to play a crucial role in a fast paced teaching environment. Should I get accepted for this position, teaching in South Korea will be one of the most challenging yet rewarding experiences I will ever encounter. I will practice what I have learned from being a South African citizen, share it with the world and have an open mind with those I come across. I want to bring the English language to others to further the global connection we are working toward. Learning another language is the first step in understanding and accepting other ways of life.

I am a graduate of the National University of Ireland, Galway having completed a degree in French, Spanish and Creative Writing as well as the 140 hour course with TEFL UK.

With my background in writing, both as part of my time in university and also for personal enjoyment, I have developed an ability to write across different forms (including fiction, non-fiction and screenwriting) and am able to express myself with clarity as concisely as possible, something that I believe is invaluable in a classroom environment.

As a person I am very social. I love having opportunities to meet new people from different countries and cultures. I also enjoy being given exciting challenges and am able to approach different problems in multiple ways. For these reasons, I believe that I would be a good fit to teach English across a variety of age ranges and abilities.
