My personality is very outgoing, I am not afraid to meet new people and be confident. I like to think this is an asset when moving overseas as these qualities aid in the process of settling in and making new friends. I am very patient and compassionate, I show great care in my work and for the people I work with. I allow people to feel comfortable around me and for them to let their guard down so as relax and be themselves.
I have previously studied at Deakin University in Australia receiving a degree in Arts, majoring in Contemporary History and Gender and Sexuality Studies. I have a passion for history and cultural studies as I can see the real effects of past events in todays society. Every action taken whether from a small uprising or a major global event is the reason the world is the way it is today. I am constantly reading and analysing historical literature; as well as feminist literature, to understand the attitudes and actions of those throughout history.
I have experience in coaching young kids in netball (commonwealth sport) as well as gymnastics. One was paid employment and the other was on a volunteers basis. I am confident in teaching children and allowing them to learn and grow in their own time. They too teach me about enjoying the little things in life and about having fun. I more recently coached in gymnastics and it was here at this job that I decided to move overseas to teach children abroad. I enjoyed coaching, however, I feel I know more about English and cultural studies to be a confident and successful teacher.

I have experience working with ESL students and adults, and I am familiar with establishing a comfortable level of communication with them, while also still offering help and corrections when desired. I have experience being in a different country and understanding how culture, upbringing, and society can have impacts on how individuals understand language related challenges, and how those challenges can be either exacerbated or capitalized on with different approaches.
My personality is open and friendly, I enjoy conversing with a wide variety of people to challenge myself and grow as a person. Some of my strong personality traits are curiosity, open-mindedness, light-hearted, and passionate. I can be quiet when in new situations, and I prefer to be overly polite and thoughtful rather than barging away without regard to others thoughts, feelings, or circumstances. Though I am naturally introverted, I am happiest when with other people, usually in small groups so we may talk and bond naturally.
I am skilled in the areas of writing, reading, researching, and communication. My computer skills cover everything except coding, and I am keen on keeping to a schedule and am proficient at planning out my time. I am decently creative in the visual arts, and I have extensive knowledge about the environment and natural world.

I have experience working with kids from the ages of 5 – 16 as a youth soccer coach in South Africa and the USA. I have worked with students at a recreational level, where it was more about fun and enjoying games to help with physical exercise, and students at a competitive level where it was more about developing in the sport of soccer and competing at the next level.

As a youth soccer coach, there are plenty of skills that can be directly translated into the classroom as a English teacher. My time as a youth soccer coach has prepared me for this transition because I have enjoyed my time working and developing students, I have the patience and passion to travel the journey of developing from point A to point B with the learners, with my lessons I am able to identify objectives that need to be learned and develop a philosophy on how to teach/coach.

As a person I am very selfless, I take pride and find joy in serving other people and watching them elevate themselves. I want to help people learn new things as I have had the privilege to live, work and study in South Africa, USA and the UK. My travelling journeys have allowed me to bring a South African background that has been influenced and learned from the cultures in USA and UK to the students of South Korea. Basically I can bring an experience of 3 nations and continents to the classroom.

I am patient and love to make my learning environment fun and inclusive for everyone. I always want everyone to feel recognized and special so every student can have the confidence to be expressive and be themselves 100%. It is not easy by my intentions are always to give myself purely without holding back so that my students can trust me and we can build a fun and trustworthy teacher-student relationship. My aim is to have a positive, everlasting impact on my students.

I have just recently passed my TEFL course. I have minimal experience within teaching in a classroom. While I was in high school I did volunteer to do a English teaching group where I would meet with students once a week and help with more of a teaching assistant with younger students.
I am quite an open person and have acted on stage and been involved within dancing. This relates to teaching because I do not get shy and feel being confident while teaching works hand in hand.
