I think I have a lot of strengths that would make me a perfect candidate for an ESL teacher in South Korea. In terms of actual classroom experience, that is where I am lacking but I make up for it with a passion for teaching – the only reason I went to university was so I could get a degree in order to obtain a visa and apply for ESL teaching roles. I have studied abroad and lived for two years in different countries during my studies. I lived in Australia as well as Japan, and this allowed me to meet and connect with people from all around the world, which made meeting new people and making new friends one of my biggest strengths. This also made me amazing at adapting to life in a foreign country and it made me realise that that is what I’m meant to be doing with my life – living in a distant land and helping people with their English at the same time. In terms of my personality, I’m a very patient and understand person, especially when it comes to people learning English as their second language – as it’s important to understand that not everyone can pick up linguistics at the same speed. I’d describe myself as kind-hearted and a passionate person, with a great work ethic and tonnes of motivation – this is what I’m hoping to instil in my students! As for skills, I did my degree in International Tourism Management with Japanese, so I like learning different languages and interacting with people from different countries and cultures (in a nutshell). I feel as if my life’s trajectory is pulling me towards English teaching and in my heart it feels like this I what I’m truly meant to be doing with the next decade of my life, so I’m hoping one day I can call a country in Asia home and what better place to start than South Korea?!

I have five years of teaching experience. I have taught 9th, 10th, and 12th, grade English and Public Speaking. My classes have included honors, core, and core special education inclusion. I am great at building a positive rapport with students. I excell at getting students to participate with kindness and compassion. I come up with fun lessons that include visual, audio, and tactile resourses.

I am so excited to take my two teenagers and become a part of the amazing culture, cutsoms and language of Korea.

I have experience working as a sunday school teacher for 3 years (on a voluntary basis). I really enjoyed this experience so that is why I would like to now teach English in Korea, I'd like to further this experience. As a teacher I am very good at creating fun lessons, I always ensure that the lessons are interactive with the learners, so that I can keep their attention on me.

I am an easy-going person, I'm fun and I love interacting with different types of people. I have a positive outlook on life and I just strive to be happy.

I'm passionate about teaching and developing young people. I am very creative and can write songs.

I have experience as a volunteer mathematics tutor. My students range from middle school to high school. These tutorial sessions are on Fridays and Saturdays, and are 2 hours long with a break in between. I was an editor of my high school newspaper which has given me an attentiveness to sentence structure in English. I am also a reader at my church, Saint Peter Claver, which has allowed me to be comfortable in commanding and speaking in front of a group of people. I have worked in retail as a teller. I was able to keep up with the pressure of being on my feet as well as engaging with many customers.

I am fresh out of college and ready to start putting my degree to work. So in terms of experience, I've worked in several daycares and have been in situations where quick thinking and strategizing are a must to ensure the kids I'm responsible for are learning the basics and are learning them safely. I like to see things to the end and push for the very best possible solution. I don't like the words “I can't do it” coming from any child and strive to change that to “I can do it” because it warms my heart to see them smile when they have learned from their mistakes and achieved their goal.
