After reading the job description and having the education and experience for the position I felt this is a great opportunity for me to expand my knowledge and career. I’m a unique candidate that brings a Global Studies Degree and Peace Corps experience along with excellent communication and multitasking skills.

I have a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Global Studies with a Minor in Communication. In my junior year in college, I spent a semester studying abroad at the University of Norway in Oslo, Norway. This experience along with my studies sparked my interest in finding a career while experiencing other cultures. Shortly after graduating from college, I found my way into the Peace Corps. In the Peace Corp I attended a 9-week training course learning to speak and understand Bemba, Zambian culture, and teaching fish farming to local villagers. During my time in the Peace Corps, I cultivated skills in different teaching methods, keeping learners engaged over a long period of time and developing creative teaching techniques. I soon realized that my passion was to find a career teaching. The development and fine-tuning of my education and skills I’ve learned can be brought into my teaching methods in an English teaching classroom.

Experience: As a high school student, I worked extensively with the school's nursery. I would assist in organising running activities, organising important daily routines such as meal-times and nap-times. I would co-ordinate with the senior teacher to assist with running of the nursery and resolving any issues that may arise. I would also be responsible for a number of students at a time, ensuring their safety throughout the day and this provided me excellent experience communicating with young children.

Personality: I am a passionate, diligent and motivated individual. From a young age I have had an unrivalled love for languages. I was fortunate to attend a bilingual nursery where I learnt English and Spanish side-by-side which awakened a deeper desire to investigate other languages and the cultures to which they are a key. Upon graduating university I decided to pursue a career that would enable me to share my passion for languages and I am dedicated to imparting my knowledge of the English language to those who wish to learn while learning more about and immersing myself in new and captivating cultures. I thrive in working in team environments and seeing people reach their goals whether large or small and it would be an honour to help students reach their English language aims.

Skills: I am affable, confident, encouraging and outgoing which I believe are key traits for a teacher to possess. I have experience organising large groups of people. As the captain of my university's lacrosse team, I was responsible for the preparation and execution of training sessions which required time management skills, dedication, effort, time and attention. I believe that I have the focus and commitment required to effectively live up to expectations required of a successful English teacher.

I am an effective communicator, with 5 months experience teaching in a primary school ages 11-13. I love children, I am patient and outspoken. I am currently a lecturer teaching Economics in a Business College
