I am interested in the English language teaching position abroad in South Korea. I am known to be a reliable hardworking individual that is always happy and positive. My passion for teaching stemmed from volunteering as an associate member for NCS which is a personal and social development programme for 15-17 year-olds in the UK. I had to conduct ice breakers, help design a social action project as well as support students in various physical, educational and social activities. I demonstrated my excellent team working skills, problem-solving skills and I believe I had the ability to motivate and inspire the students. I believe I have had a lot of experience in teaching EFL informally which involved practising conversational English at different levels, correcting English homework as well as helping with preparation for the TOEIC exam.

I have recently graduated from the University of Sheffield with a 2:1 honours in Korean Studies. During my degree I was able to study at Hanyang University and experience living in South Korea. As you can tell from my degree, I have a genuine interest in Korea and its beautiful culture. As I have previously lived in Korea, I know what to expect and would like to learn more about Korea and travel to places I have never explored before. Due to the combination of my desire to teach and my love for Korea, I believe Korea is the best place for me to teach EFL. I believe if given the opportunity to teach EFL in Korea, I can develop and further my career in teaching. The most rewarding thing is to see prospective students progress in the English language.

As I have a large family it means that I interact with a lot of young children very often. I am known by family and friends as getting along well with kids, making up exciting stories, leading fun activities as well as giving good discipline when needed. I have a bright personality, a lot of energy and patience. I hope that I am able to have the opportunity to bring these qualities into a classroom and make learning a fun and educational experience for students.

I have just finished my bachelor degree in Sociology, I have worked in a number of different job sectors that have included working with children. My first job at Build a Bear has shaped who I am as a person, it was a happy job therefore I am a positive person that creates safe and friendly environments. While maintaining an enthusiastic and bubbly persona. Through having experience in different jobs I have development skills such as problem solving and working under pressure.

I have over 3 years ESL teaching experience in China. I have taught multiple levels including Kindergarten students, Elementary students, Middle school students, High school students and even University students. I prefer teaching older students as that I feel that is one of my strengths. I don't like teaching Kindergarten students.

I feel that I'm very independent and resourceful. I'm also good at encouraging students. I'm very passionate and enjoy teaching as I feel that it could make a huge difference.

I have held leadership positions in high school and at Howard University and have experience mentoring students and facilitating lessons and discussions. I am a responsible and hard working person. I put my everything into the things that I commit to and I am very organized. I am also fast learner and I am always open to receiving feedback and advice. As someone with a Bachelor's in Psychology mental health is an issue that I take very seriously so creating a stress free learning environment is something that is very important to me.
