I am a patient and entertaining teacher. I have a year and a half of experience teaching children ages 5-13 at a hagwon in South Korea. I taught effectively in a way that was interesting and fun for the students.

I have two degrees, one in accounting and one in business management, and I have spent 5 years in the workforce. Though my jobs in the accounting field don't directly relate to teaching, I feel I've developed many of the skills necessary to be a great teacher. My experience in the accounting field has increased my skills in interpersonal communication, task management, and leadership, as I've helped host meetings, meet short monthly deadlines, and worked with a team teaching and developing new processes. In my college school work and the jobs I have had since, I have worked frequently on teams for different assignments and job tasks. I have learned to communicate succinctly and effectively so that I am clearly understood and our work can progress successfully. I feel these skills would be of great benefit as an English teacher. I am very patient, kind, and positive, and I love supporting and encouraging the growth of those around me as they develop and flourish within their fields. I am a hard worker and always do the job I am assigned to the best of my ability, as I know my work reflects not only on me but on those around me as well.

With my background in human services and psychology, I have worked closely with children, youth, and their families in the past. I have strong people skills and collaborative skills that allows me to build rapport with people easily. While I did not teach in a school setting, I worked with people in setting their goals in employment and leading them in meeting those goals through planning, teaching hard skills and soft skills in employment, and finding actionable solutions. Therefore, I am confident in my ability to engage with people and teaching them necessary skills. I also volunteered at a children's hospital to continue my passion in working with children in child life department as I enjoy working with children in general.

I possess a range of strengths, valuable experiences, and a vibrant personality that contribute to my effectiveness as an English language teacher. One of my greatest strengths is my exceptional communication skills, which allow me to connect with students on a personal level and create a positive and engaging learning environment. With my background in customer service, I have honed my ability to understand and address individual needs, ensuring that each student receives the support and guidance they require to succeed. Moreover, my experiences in various educational settings, including work placements and volunteering, have provided me with valuable insights into different learning styles and strategies. This diversity of experiences has equipped me with the adaptability and flexibility needed to cater to the unique needs of each student. In terms of my personality, I am known for being enthusiastic, patient, and approachable. I genuinely care about the progress and well-being of my students, and I am dedicated to helping them achieve their language goals. My positive and friendly demeanor helps create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel comfortable taking risks and participating actively.
