My name is Olwami Mkhize from South Africa. I am a dedicated, passionate and reliable teacher who is inclined at adapting in any situation.

I hold a Bachelor's Degree obtained earlier this year and I have teaching experience from three different institutions where I worked together with the main educator teaching students that are between the ages 2-18.

I am creative, work well in groups hence my communications skills are as great. I am also knowledgeable with Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint.

Miss Olwami Mkhize

I have been a Korean language program tutor at the University of Michigan, where provide tutoring sessions on Korean writing and grammar for the Korean language students here. We serve as a resource and liaison between students and faculty to best meet the needs and academic objectives of students. Also, we work with Asian Languages and Cultures faculty and staff to develop programming for the annual Korean Language Program, which I believe go alongs with the ESL position.

My strengths are that I'm always reliable because I hardly get sick and I don't ever really don't call out of work and I come the days I'm supposed to come. I'm independent but also can collaborate and work with others when asked or needed to. I always enjoy learning new things and striving to do my best at everything that I do. Me personality wise I'm always told that I'm very patient and easy going. People often find in comfort in me and don't feel judged when around me. My skills are that I can multi-task, I'm good at managing time and problem solving.

I have experience covering a wide array of industries, in a selection of roles, many of which have involved composing and running training sessions ranging from basic application use to on the job training and mentoring. From one-on-one coaching and tutoring sessions, to small group instruction, to full room presentations, I've imparted information and learning. Mainly corporate training, but having dealt with a wide range of people from interns just starting their working life to seasoned staff that have decades of experience, I've helped them all learn.
Maintinaing a friendly and professional manor, I pride myself on my patience and being approachable to all.

I have been tutoring peers and younger students since my high school years. I was in 4 honor societies in High School, all requiring a certain number of weekly tutoring hours. When I entered university, I began by tutoring my younger cousins and their school friends (ages 8-13) on all academic courses. As I have begun my senior year in university, I have started an academic internship at PYE Prep school that has allowed me to create lesson plans, create activity worksheets, and raise the standard of my academic work. I have also been able to teach English online with Native Camp. Native Camp works with citizens in Japan who want to improve their English production and reception comprehension. I am able to guide the students through lessons highlighting aspects that the students believe they need improvement on. In addition to these positions, I have recently begun working with Ruediger Elementary School as an activity leader. I create educational activities for the school students ages 4-11 and monitor the students during their afterschool programs.

I possess a diverse skill set honed through nearly three years of experience as an English Learning Facilitator for first-year university students. My proficiency extends to Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, Blackboard, and Turnitin, showcasing my ability to proficiently navigate various educational tools. I am always eager to acquire new skills and tools. In addition to my technical expertise, I excel in teamwork, written communication, error identification and correction, creative writing, and providing constructive feedback. In my current role, I have become adept at facilitating group discussions, fostering critical thinking, and engaging students through thought-provoking activities. Furthermore, my aptitude for one-on-one consultations, conflict resolution, and unwavering commitment to academic growth reflect my dedication as an educator. With a deep passion for teaching and a penchant for creative thinking, I am enthusiastic about inspiring students to harness the transformative potential of learning English.

My passion for languages and linguistics is a significant aspect of my life. I aspire to gain fluency in at least eight languages by the age of 50, and I actively practice my French and Dutch in pursuit of that goal. My commitment to lifelong learning is underscored by my aspirations to pursue a Master's degree and potentially a Ph.D. in the future. However, before embarking on that journey, I am eager to share my expertise as a TEFL teacher for several years.

I am an individual with quiet interests, finding solace in activities such as painting, reading, gardening, hiking, and board games. Exploring museums and galleries is a frequent pastime, and I cherish spending hours at a local coffee shop, engaging in profound conversations with friends or delving into the pages of captivating novels.

I have extensive experience in education which varies from teaching English to Kindergarten students to teaching flying to student pilots both in England and Spain. I worked in care industry as well as Aviation in many years and met some amazing people along the way who helped me grow into a better person.
I am a very adaptable, patient, resourceful and orginased person. I work well in a team but also manage my tasks individually in a timely manner. My work history would prove that I have great inter personal skills and I can work with pretty much anyone. I love sharing my knowledge and experience with young people. I also care about educating young people so that they become confident, skilled and happy as the pillars of our future.
