Melissa: United States: Feb 24, 2020

I have degree in English from the University of Wyoming, which was acquired concurrently with a degree in Physiology. I've taken graduate courses in English, and taught as a Graduate Assistant for the Human Physiology lab. I have worked with children for the past two years, both as a mentor at the Help Yourself Academy and at a local Mental Health Hospital that helps children learn how to cope with trauma, and have appropriate social skills.

My personality is typically cheerful and patient-especially with kids. I enjoy teaching, and really love seeing kids grasp new concepts. I'm an organized and punctual person, and really strive for good and open communication wherever I work.

I am an enthusiastic person with a love for the subjects that I teach and a passion for education. I have almost a decade of experience teaching students of varying backgrounds and skill levels.

I have taught students in both a private capacity as a tutor as well as in the classroom (both academy and public school). I have a stubborn streak and dislike giving up on my students.

Shannon: United Kingdom: Jan 01, 2020

I am a strong experienced manager working with a high number of foreign volunteers who come to learn English, teaching them basic English to business English through out their stay. Stays would last from 4 – 8 weeks usually with 2 foreign volunteers at a time. I also work with foreign settlers looking for full time work. They come to me to be trained in retail working while also developing their English skills before they apply to full time work.
Throughout my years in both retail and various teaching roles I have gathered much knowledge in people skills, all students are individual and everyone learns in their own unique way. I use multiple methods of teaching (linguistic, visual, auditory, kinetic), mixing both traditional ways of learning with new to reach every student. Learning is not a skill that is necessarily instinctual or easy, and therefore different approaches must be used to make learning easier and more fun for students.
I have an open mind, a positive attitude and high expectations in the classroom each day. I want my classroom to be a fun and relaxed learning environment, allowing students to not fear learning and believe there are no stupid questions. If you do not ask how would you ever find out the correct answer.
I strongly believe in student-centered learning. Creating lessons that focus on the students and how they learn rather than the teacher being the center of the class. Letting students work together and take more control on the lessons makes them rely more on what they already know and forces them to think more rather than rely on myself to give them the answer first. We would then go over their answers together and I would offer solutions and answers.

Sungmin: Korea: Dec 15, 2019

I've been teaching since 2013, as a home tutor in English and mathematics. Honestly! I'm good with kids. I think the best way to teach kids, is to communicate with them at their own age level, Which helps to establish a good bond with the students and because of my friendly character, It was always easy for me to have a good relationship with them.
Skill wise, I'm good in artistic subjects and have a great hobby of making short films and animation. Plus I sing and play guitar too.

Oh and yes! I'm graduated in computer sciences from an American university.
