I am TEFL certified, and I believe that my many years of English teaching and tutoring experiences make me an ideal candidate for the teaching position.

I am an outgoing individual, and I enjoy interacting with people. My students and the parents of my younger students would say that kindness and patience are my top qualities. In my opinion, these two qualities are incredibly important to be an effective teacher. I also speak multiple languages. This is another quality of mine that allows me to be an effective English teacher. English is my native language; the experiences of learning other languages have taught me the complicated process of learning a new language and given me the insight to teach the complexity of the English language.

I tend to be flexible with my teaching style to cater to each individual student. I also work with my students to establish rules that will help them succeed during the learning process. Finally, my favourite teachers in life have influenced me to become the teacher I am. My mother is a teacher, and she has inspired me the most.

Please consider my application for your program. I have lots of experience working with children, as a tutor, private French teacher and over a year an au pair with families in France and Germany. I received a Bachelor of Music in 2019 from the University of Melbourne, one of the best universities in Australia. I am interested in teaching English as a next step on my career path as I value immensely learning about other cultures and languages.

Experience-wise I have always loved working with kids (I’ve been an au pair for a large part of my adult life!). Ever since I was young, I have been involved in helping my mother (who is a music teacher and classroom teacher) with class preparation, testing out lessons and more. I was also involved in a reptile show company Lizzy’s Lizzards as an assistant presenter and later as a presenter. This is a service that goes to kindergartens, schools, and children’s birthday parties to teach them about the animals of Australia, what they can do and what we can do to look after them. Being an au pair involves getting the kids ready in the morning, teaching them English through games, songs and daily phrases, taking them to school, helping them with homework, making dinner and babysitting. In France, I was occasionally a teaching assistant at the local primary school. I also tutored English one on one and in small groups. I held a weekly French class in Australia throughout 2018/19. I look forward to being able to teach in a more formal setting with larger classes one day.

Personality-wise, I am consistently optimistic, hard-working and respectful. I take great care to understand every aspect of my work, through my job as a waitress I learnt a high level of professionalism and collaboration with other staff. As an au pair one must consistently be in communication with the parents, parents of friends of the children, schools and kindergartens as well as being constantly extremely responsible.

In terms of skills, most importantly I have great communication skills, problem solving, and initiative. All of these are important for my current position and have been important throughout my time as an University student and a head waitress at Le Voltaire Bistro Francais. Additionally, I have a Bachelor of Music and have worked with opera companies and choirs in both Europe and Australia so I am perhaps overqualified for singing English education songs but I really enjoy it! I am applying for the role of teacher of English as a foreign language. Having spent the last two years working in education as a teaching assistant at Hillbrook primary school, I know that I want to go into a career in teaching.

Taking the Cambridge Certificate in English Language Teaching course this summer was an experience I found not only hugely enjoyable, but intellectually demanding and highly fulfilling.

My experience on the CELTA course convinced me that teaching English as a foreign language was something I really wanted to do. I welcomed the opportunity to interact with a wide range of students and helping them to progress in their attempts to improve their ability to understand and communicate in English. Seeing the students on the course make progress was hugely fulfilling.

I feel that I am well suited to the role of English language teacher: I have not only a deep interest in educating students and helping them to progress in achieving their aims, but I also have an ever-increasing interest in the English language and what methods are best suited to its teaching. I am happy and confident in interacting with students and colleagues and I really enjoy working as part of a team.

I am also, of course, very interested in the travel opportunities that this job brings with it and would be very happy to emerse myself in a new country and culture.

I am a passionate, enthusiastic and friendly ESL teacher, who has one year's experience in the field, working with children between the ages of 3 and 12. In addition to this, I have worked with older students in Uganda, when I worked as a Volunteer following my graduation from University in 2018.

These experiences have equipped me to the necessary skills to undertake a new ESL challenge within a new environment. They have allowed me to become an adaptable candidate who is not afraid to take risks and react to changing situations. For example, I have excelled in roles in diverse locations such as Beijing and a rural village called Nazigo in the Kayunga district of Uganda and transitioned to Online teaching when the current pandemic took hold around the world.

Furthermore, in undertaking my first ESL roles, I have built upon the communication and presentation skills developed during my academic studies to become an excellent teacher, who can inject passion and energy into every class that I teach. I thrive on building a relationship with my students and helping them to excel in a friendly and welcoming environment. As a teacher in Beijing, I was praised for my teaching style by both my Chinese colleagues and the Academic Director of my school, who later headhunted me to work for the company remotely on a new project, after the COVID-19 outbreak had initially forced me to leave the company when I decided to return home.

Teaching online has reinvigorated my love for ESL teaching and I am now seeking a new opportunity in Korea, a country which I have long sought to visit. I believe I could thrive as a teacher in this setting. and look forward to hearing from you soon.

My name is Joe Modzelewski and I am a twenty-four year old from Canada. I am extremely interested in a position as an ESL teacher/teaching assistant in South Korea. Learning, communication, language, and culture are all important passions to me and I thrive in environments where I am able to share this passion with others and hopefully help others reach their fullest potential. Coming from a long line of teachers myself, my mother and both her parents being teachers, the values instilled by them in me have fostered an immense appreciation for the values of education, patience, and mutual respect.

I completed my undergraduate degree with distinction at McGill University in Montreal, Quebec. My focus pertained to anthropology and environmental studies although my focus shifted several times throughout my studies from ancient languages, to archaeology, and even biology. It was through my language courses, and the great teachers who taught them, that I grew an enthusiastic appreciation for language study and was exposed to a diverse array of language teaching methodologies and practices, even being awarded the Neil Stewart Prize for achieving top grade in a Biblical Hebrew class. Throughout my time at McGill, I also had various papers published in student journals and works of poetry printed in community publications.

For the past couple of years, I have been involved in various volunteer positions giving peer-to-peer support, with both kids and adults, in the public health field. These positions have allowed me the opportunity to build compassionate relations with individuals who are often misunderstood, growing my own sense of empathy, understanding, and relating, all of which are integral not only in a classroom but everywhere outside it too. Throughout highschool and university, I have also taken on jobs primarily in the hospitality industry, including a managerial position at a restaurant in Montreal. This hands-on and involved position allowed me to hone in on my pragmatic skills regarding time management and problem-solving all while under immense pressure to perform and provide an excellent experience for our clients.

Possessing a diverse background of skills and experience, I feel that I would be an excellent candidate for a position as an ESL teacher/teaching assistant. Dear Sir/Madam

I am applying for the role of English teacher in South Korea. I have seen the job advertised on the TEFL.org website. I have recently completed my 120 Hour TEFL Course, please find my CV enclosed for your consideration.
Whilst I do not have any experience of teaching in a school, I do have experience in teaching in workplaces as I was a designated trainer in a previous position. I also used to take interviews for the roles and hold team meetings once a week prepared by myself, which has helped perfect my communication skills. Due to being a supervisor in a previous job role I am a very organised person which I know will assist me when it comes to preparing for lessons and writing any lesson plans that may be required.
There was a classroom element to the 120 Hour TEFL course I completed. This helped me massively as this showed me what it would be like to teach and what is required to do so. It helped me to see the different levels of students I will teach, how to prepare lessons and most importantly how to keep the students motivated to learn English.
I am interested in taking this role as I am passionate about travelling and experiencing new cultures and this is the perfect way to do that whilst earning a living and giving back to the local community. I look forward to hearing from you.

My current experience with teaching has been around numerous primary and high schools. My previous job roles I have been a sports coach where I have delivered PE lessons to children from reception all the way to age 16. Lessons would have been an hour long and delivered to a group of around 30 children with assistance from the school teacher if needed. The skills i learnt from this job role was to be adaptable when something isn't working, communicate with clarity, to create a fun, positive and safe environment and also inclusion for everyone. Another job role I have had with teaching was a role as a school support coach. Within this role i would go into different schools each day delivering lessons on PSHE topics to a group of targeted children. The group sizes would have been around 12 pupils without help from another teacher. Within these targeted groups were children who struggled academically and needed extra help and a positive role model in a school setting. There were many different cultures, abilities, learning difficulties and barriers that came within the role but with the training and experience I learnt many skills and attributes that could be transferable to another job. I have shown in my coaching and teaching roles that I am a very good team player, hard working, committed, eager to learn and develop, trustworthy and passionate.

I have lived and taught EFL in Korea since March 2012 and have a great breadth and depth of teaching experience in Incheon, Goyang (Ilsan) and Seoul (premiere academy areas like Daechi-dong and Junggye-dong) and at all levels, with Elementary, Middle, High School and University students, as well as with adults of all ages in their post-university years.

I can teach and have taught many subjects during my time in Korea, including but not limited to: English (literature, composition, grammar, reading comprehension, speaking, listening), History, Sociology, various Sciences, and TOEFL.

I’ve gained a wealth of valuable teaching experience, both in the general sense, and more specifically as an EFL instructor. I’ve been told by students, managers and fellow teachers alike that I have an effective style of conveying linguistically difficult concepts—namely through using a calm patience, always employing clear and precise pronunciation, and an ability to reduce complex ideas to their most basic and most important components. Students also enjoy my sense of humor and ability to entertain them while effectively teaching them as well.

I think much of my success as an EFL teacher can be attributed to my naturally good natured and humorous personality combined with my intellectual passion for teaching, which I gathered a lot of strength in from my university education. I have a hard work ethic, a lot of relevant experience and relevant skills to offer any EFL institution (as well as the added convenience of already having D-10 Visa and currently residing in South Korea at my home in Seoul (Yongsan-gu) secured with my own key money) and am looking to hopefully find a great match with one of the best.

I am a very friendly person and I am able to work in a team and independently when required . I adapt easily to changes and environments and I assimilate easily. I have a BA degree in Law, Politics and Organisational Psychology from Rhodes University and some of the critical skills I acquired besides my qualification is conducting my self in a professional manner , producing quality work as well as managing my time effectively. I am always willing to learn from others as education is a lifelong endeavour and it is important for one to always open up themselves to new experiences and knowledge.
