I have nearly a year of English-language tutoring experience for students 5-18; topics I teach include academic essay writing, reading comprehension, grammar, verbal communication, listening, literature appreciation, and college prep English. I am motivating, upbeat, passionate, and dedicated to my students.

Aside from my English teaching experience, I believe my expertise in creating English-language content and experience in the Korean work environment makes me the ideal candidate for this position. All of my documents are ready to go for my E2 visa. In addition to this, I am currently taking a TEFL course and am expected to complete it by the end of March.

In High School I interned for a local ESL class for immigrants. Throughout my corporate positions I have lead peer training classes and forums on a regular basis, not all for language functions, but they all involved adult and youth learning skills and techniques.

I am a committed, hardworking and conscientious English Literature and Language graduate from England, a friendly and vibrant member of the community, and good with people of all ages.

For the last three years I have been living in Beijing, working as a Lead English teacher at two different International Schools. This experience has allowed me to refine my understanding of the intricacies and details in the composition of the English Language and further inspired to continue teaching English as a Foreign Language. I have also spent time developing some important skills that are constantly utilised whilst teaching English including; how to develop lesson plans for interesting, intriguing and informative classes, depending on a variety of factors, classroom management and effective communication with colleagues with a different native language.

I have accumulated a wealth of professional experience across multiple industries since the age of seventeen. I have previously worked in Southeast Asia during my time in the Merchant Navy, so I am familiar with working abroad and with people who do not speak English as their first language. Through my Geography major while I was in university, I discovered a great love of storytelling and intercultural communications. This love, when combined with my creativity and warm demeanor, make me an approachable and engaging teacher. Language is a fascinating communicative tool; my openminded approach and knowledge gained both through my studies in university and while getting my TEFL certification have shaped me into a curious, driven, and empathetic person.
