My name is Atilay Elmas and I am a Canadian citizen living in Canada. I have a bachelor’s degree in English Literature from Concordia University and a TEFL certificate of 150 hours. I’m really interested in the opportunity of starting my teaching career in South Korea.

I am an energetic, hard worker, fast learner, and enthusiastic person who looks forward to always improving himself. Although, I have no teaching experience, I strongly believe that I would be an undoubtable asset to your team.

I am dedicated and passionate about the students' I interact with.I get to know students' strengths and weaknesses ,which gives me the opportunity to get to understand them and their backgrounds.I had recently been in a situation ,where a grade 8 student ,had asked me a question on the meaning of ''What is an educator?'',which to my surprise ,they should have known the meaning of it.However ,this did not stop me from explaining the meaning ,as well as ,providing an example.

I have gained tremendous amount of knowledge and guidance from my mentors ,which has paved a platform for me to project and to interpret my methods of teaching to students' ,to simplify and make lessons a memorable one,where each student ,takes away a new piece of information every time.

I have used my experience, to explain, various topics which I interpret in my own way and hope to relate to each student .This opportunity has allowed me ,to simplify essay writing ,by explaining the ''Introduction,body and conclusion'' ,allowing me to also explain how and when to implement the use of a''paragraph''

My time spent at the Primary and High School till current ,has allowed me the opportunity ,to dive into new challenges and to understand different teaching methods from observation.I have projected excellent assistance through exam invigilation, as well as ,class assistance to my mentors.

Through my experiences sitting in on lessons,I have delivered comprehension lessons ,asking each student, to read aloud, which created a platform for students, to practice their speaking and reading skills.This allowed to students' to shy away from fear and nervousness as well.I found that students' were eager to read ,answer the questions ,as well as ,ask questions .

I project a very pleasant and approachable persona ,to both my mentors and to the student's.I found that students' interacted well in class discussions ,which mean't a lot to me ,as I feel that most times students' are afraid to speak up in class ,due to fear or being nervous.This creates a calm environment ,as I always want students' to be calm and comfortable in the classroom.

Whenever I am given the opportunity, to assist in class lessons or to sit in on lessons,I always encourage students' to aim for better ,than they did the day before.I encourage, each individual to be enthusiastic and passionate about each subject, regardless of whether they like or dislike it.For example,I found that minority of students' always sighed when they heard the subject ''Math'' ,I encouraged each student, to work from day one of the subject ,to focus and to dedicate some time to practice ,as it starts in the classroom to pave their desired futures.

I aim to guide students' in the right direction ,and make them aware ,that school is a wonderful place to be ,it has a lot of opportunities ,that can easily be passed up ,if not grabbed with both hands.I believe communication and organisation is extremely important ,I always maintain a friendly atmosphere for students' ,so that they understand ,that I am there, to lead them in the right direction and I am not their enemy ,as most students' do think .I was once in high school ,and I can relate so much to the students' ,that it has become a passion, to steer them into the right path to a bright future.

It is with great pleasure that I am applying for teaching positions within your company. Ever since I finished my degree I knew that I needed some time away from education and to focus on finding my career path, and honestly I am excited. I feel as if I will find this within teaching.

As you can see from my CV, I do not currently have any experience teaching English. However I have held previous classes, and catch up sessions throughout university with struggling students in the years below me, in which I had some very valuable teaching and social experiences.

I have always been good with people, mainly children, as I have grown in up a large household and am the oldest of all my siblings and cousins. Having a large family has meant I am able to be very personable and easy to talk to. I feel that my hand in helping my family raise the younger children in the family will be a great asset to helping me throughout my teaching journey.

In addition to this I have a 120+ hour TEFL online course. This course covers, gramma, teaching methodology, teaching online, young learners, teaching large classes, and a telephone teaching course. To further educate myself in ESL teaching, I am currently completing two add on TEFL courses, Teaching Young Learners 30hrs, and Teaching English Online 40hrs. I am also set to start 12weeks of evening classes online in Korean Language.

I love children and have a passion for sharing knowledge and empowering others, teaching is a convergence of the two things I love the most. I believe education is one of the best ways in which you can change someone's life, engaging with students for me has meant not only imparting knowledge but making them feel valuable. I am patient, compassionate and kind. I have, whilst holding a full time job, volunteered my time and resources to empower young learners with English and Life Orientation skills who come from disadvantaged backgrounds. It has been a tremendous pleasure to watch them thrive and has inspired me to take a leap of faith and teach full time.

I am a very outgoing person who is excellent and forming new relationships with others. During my time at university I have had the chance to meet countless people through social events, promotional work, and my course.

I cope well in unfamiliar situations and often use my initiative to find solutions to issues that arise, as well as do my best to support my team whilst not being afraid to ask for guidance in order to improve my abilities. As a fast learner I find that I am very adaptable and can overcome many difficulties.

Through presentations and group discussions at university I have been able to greatly improve my communication skills both amongst large groups and in personal conversations, a skill which is key to succeeding in this role.

My previous experience of promotional work has also made me comfortable with meeting new people and allows me to quickly find ways to create connections with others.

I was a teacher's assistant in an elementary school, this placement taught me of the fundamentals of designing and delivering elementary level literacy support. Additionally, I have tutored senior year students in computer science, and created daily lesson plans to motivate the students in computing disciplines.

I have Bachelor of Arts English degree as well as a diploma on computer programming. Having worked in information technology industry gave me work experience in managing a high-volume workload within a deadline-driven environment.

I have experience working with young learners and their curriculum and behaviors. I am very patient and dedicated to helping students learn. In addition, I have experience in tutoring older students and I communicate materials well. I am well organized and have proven leadership skills.
