Trained and educated as an Occupational Therapist, I am able to observe and identify any barriers that are inhibiting one to achieve their goals. My most recent and most notable success is conducting research at Danang Orthopedic Hospital in Danang Vietnam, investigating the benefits and barriers of Occupational Therapy for the patients in the rehabilitation unit. My specialty is making accommodations to the patients needs in order to achieve their desired self care tasks. My recent research helped the lives of many to learn about various strategies to help in their healing and rehabilitation process.

As an OT, we are educators in healthcare, mental health, and/or educational settings. I find joy seeing others accomplish their goals that bring meaning and success and I feel that this translates well as an educator. I am compassionate, patient, and sincere by nature and I feel that these are strong qualities as an educator to lead their students to success.

I have a love for helping people and I'm very good with teaching young minds, I don't have professional experience, but having come from a family with a lot of nieces and nephews, I naturally learned how to educate kids, and always enjoyed it. Throughout my life, I have always wanted to make an impact on the world, but it wasn’t until my junior year of high school, when I was teaching preschool, that I fell in love with the idea of teaching. If you know me, you know that I want to see the world, learn new languages and cultures, and meet people. I also want to be able to open schools around the world to give children the education that they deserve.

I started off as a preschool Montessori teacher and then was in the teacher preparation program at Salisbury University, where I taught 1st, 3rd, and 4th grade. While I do not have a teaching license, I have found that there are still endless opportunities to become a teacher. I finished my degree with a Bachelor of Science with a focus in elementary education and film.
I struggled as a kid academically because of ADHD, but my teachers are the reason why I am who I am to this day, and they are the reason why I am so passionate about traveling and teaching. Your first thought when you hear, “Oh, she wants to travel,” may be, “She just wants to go to the beach and drink margaritas all day,” but this couldn’t be further from the truth. I want to be a part of the community and learn from the people who live there, while still being culturally responsive.

In the teacher preparation program, my university made it clear how important it is to be a culturally responsive teacher and how important it is to build strong relationships with your students—because you simply cannot teach a child without knowing how they learn best.
One of my biggest life goals is to make an impact on the world. You may hear this a lot, but I truly want to dedicate my life to teaching and making impacts in small communities in as many places as I can. If one day I get a phone call from a student telling me that they are going to run for president, I will feel like I am on top of the world. I don’t want to teach just to be another teacher in the classroom, but to tell students that they can achieve anything they believe in.
While I travel to unknown places, I know the obstacles that lie ahead of me. But one of my favorite quotes is, “The only thing you have to fear is fear itself.” Yes, I can get hesitant about doing things, but being nervous is what makes you human. If you do not face your fears head-on—and if your dreams do not scare you—I truly believe they are not big enough.

Traveling the world is scary, but it is something that I have been wanting to do for over a decade. Everything I have been doing has been leading me to this moment where I am right now—every choice I have made, every obstacle I have faced. I have pushed through because of the dream I have: that I am going to get to travel, teach, and see the world.

I have two years of experience teaching piano to students of various ages, as well as volunteering experience in Tanzania with Raleigh International that included teaching hand hygiene practices to an under-resourced community. Having studied a combination of English Language and Literature at A-level, as well as a Film and Creative Writing degree at the University of Essex, I have a good understanding of the English language which I could pass onto students in South Korea. After being made redundant from my job at World Digital Foundation in October 2023, I moved to East Sussex with my father and extended family. During this period, I worked on a number of building/labouring projects with family friends while searching for a new job in digital marketing (previously held job, and field of study at university) as I believed that this would be the best way to further my 'career'. However, after a number of months spent applying for jobs, I was beginning to become disillusioned with the 'world' of digital marketing/online networking etc…
Skipping forward into March/April of 2024, while weighing options for other types of employment outside of the digital marketing landscape, the amount of manual labouring work began to pick up dramatically in the spring/summer of 2024. This was a result of living in East Sussex whilst job searching (a countryside region of the UK) and had a number of friends and family who worked in roofing, fencing, landscaping, scaffolding and general building projects.
During this period, I was doing a lot of writing which had been a passion that I developed during and post university. This in combination with a conversation I had with a friend about their travels abroad led me to looking into teaching English as a foreign language. I have always wanted to travel but lacked the means to go backpacking or on holiday and thought that I could do something more meaningful with my time by completing a TEFL course and teaching abroad. This was in October 2024, when I signed up for the Highfield level 5 Diploma in Teaching English as a Foreign Language 180hr (TEFL) qualification.
To bring us into the present, I finished studying and passed my TEFL certification on the 4th April 2025 and have been looking for employment abroad for the past couple of months.
