Working with young children is my passion which is why I chose to study Early Childhood Education in University. After completing university, I opted to move abroad to Macau, China to begin my teaching career versus staying in the United States. I have taught English to Kindergarten children in Macau for 3 years now and have loved every moment of teaching, both the good and the bad. I believe I have an outgoing and flexible personality that allow me to adapt and grow in any new environment that I am placed in. I am a very people-oriented person and enjoy working both independently as well as part of a team. In the classroom, I feel I bring a fun and loving energy to my students to help provide them with a learning environment that embraces each and every student and their various learning abilities and levels.

I would like to pursue a career teaching English as a foreign language. I have some good commercial experience ranging from working in sales, to being a tourist representative for a holiday company. I have completed a 120-hour combined classroom and self-study TEFEL course with 2 extra add ones a 30-hour business English course and a 30-hour young learner add on, both off these were online study.

The Course Director Joe Hallwood noted that I have demonstrated a keen interest in the topics covered. I have developed a confident style of teaching. I have shown ability to establish rapport in class and I have responded well to suggestions. I am also very meticulous and have good attention to detail. I like my lessons to be well structured and show good direction, so I would be sure to construct well detailed lesson plans for each lesson. My though nature would make sure I cover all off the chosen curriculum.

I have also worked with a range of different age groups of people, from working with young people when I was an assistant Scout leader to working with adults in many other jobs I have participated in. I have also engaged in many extracurricular activities such as the Duke of Edinburgh Gold award. This award involves participating in lots of outdoor pursuits such as hill walking and playing sports such as Badminton, which I chose. So, with my combined work experience, I feel I would make an excellent TEFEL teacher.

I believe I am fit for this position because of my various past experiences in the education field, mostly in visual arts. Before starting college, I first started working as an art assistant teacher at my old high school in a summer program, Flint Hill School. Here, I was able to learn how the lesson plan structure works and also planning the day with the teacher with activities and lessons for children ages 5-10. I have also been constantly in the field with elementary to secondary through the Art Education program at my university, SAIC for a year and a half. I am also working at art academies part-time in order to gain more exposure in the education field. With my previous experiences teaching various age ranges students from student teaching to working in art academies, I bring with me not only a strong background, but also a tremendous work ethic and eagerness to learn that greatly augments my work. I could be a benefit for you because I am a very organized, hard worker, and efficient person to work with. I show my passion by trying to go the extra mile by helping other faculties and trying my best in the classroom environment. I am very excited for the opportunity to join your team as a passionate and enthusiastic summer teacher. I am a full-time history teacher at a college-preparatory school and have been admitted to an MA in Historical Research Methods program at the University of Sheffield. I plan to be in Seoul, South Korea from June-August.

I have extensive teaching and tutoring experience in a wide variety of subjects as well as with a diverse range of students. In particular, I have taught ESL, English literature, composition, US and world history, and algebra 1 to preschool to college aged students. This has included students studying for AP, SAT, and TOEFL tests. Rather than push rote memorization and drills, I have focused on helping my students grasp the conceptual knowledge behind the material. After mastering the material, I instruct my students how to clearly articulate the content through verbal and written mediums. As a history teacher, preschool teacher, and private tutor I have gained experience in curriculum development and have learned how to shape lessons to fit the specific needs of my students.

In 2015, I spent a year abroad in South Korea where I studied Korean Language at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies. By studying at a Korean university and living with a Korean family I quickly fell in love with the culture. I am so excited for the opportunity to go back again for a summer.

Throughout college I consistently worked full time while maintaining a full course load and a perfect GPA. This experience has made me a self-starter with an incredible work ethic. I've been teaching in all kinds of classes, both physical and virtual classes, across a vast variety of subjects: IB, AP, SAT, TOEFL, essay writing, English competitions, Spanish, etc. I have experience teaching 1:1, smaller groups, and bigger groups.

I have a lot of experience. I have taught in public schools, language institutes and international school.

I am known for my sense of humour and dedication to teaching. In the classroom I use my humour to engage students and maintain a positive and fun learning experience. I have won monetary awards for student retention.

I am very skilled at teaching pronunciation. I use a phonetic approach. I emphasize common sounds as students learn new vocabulary which, over time increases student confidence and their pronunciation.

In my classes the students do most of the speaking which again over time increases their confidence and speaking ability.

Technically i have a good understanding of grammar and phonics which obviously helps.

I am a generous, friendly and happy person overall.

I really enjoyed the experience of connecting with students and helping them achieve the marks they wanted. The students I helped all had different backgrounds but they all had this common goal to attend university with scholarship. Their endeavor was inspiring and pushed me to work hard as well.
Prior to this, I volunteered many years as a Sunday school teacher for young children which made me a very patient person. I am very dedicated in everything I do, and this position would be no exception.

I have worked for over 20 years as an engineer and this enables me to teach math, physics, mechanics and science from a hands on perspective. My students comprehend the subject matter because I teach them from an expert yet accessible perspective, I teach from real life experience, so the students learn real application of knowledge, not just abstract notions.

I retrained in computer science to keep pace with this fast paced changing world, and yet within ICT there are many parallels with engineering because they both build systems, and I find the process of software development both structural and modular in design. It is these insights that my students will benefit from.

When I started my job in Silicon Valley, I went from working part-time in my job to having 3 jobs. I worked as a math tutor and statistician for Stanford Athletics and San Francisco 49ers. I worked with middle and high school students in all subjects of math. I have a friendly, bright, and optimistic personality that helped me in my teaching job. For the statistician job, I sought out to the head coaches to obtain the job. Starting from high school, there was no job that allowed students to work on the football team besides an athlete. I reached out to the coaches and showed my passion and knowledge for the sport and my determination to help the team. I worked as a manager and statistician for high school, UC Davis, Stanford Athletics, and San Francisco 49ers. I am very determined and ambitious and like to think outside of the box.
I am fluent in English and Korean. I lived in Seoul, Korea for 14.5 years attending an American school. I understand the culture and language from both countries. I am seeking for a job to live in Seoul, Korea on my own this time around.

I have taught basically all my life. It started with tutoring and extended to teaching students in an organization. That is when I officially can say that I am a teacher. My personality is kind and very patient with students. Although I try to be funny with my students, when they give me a hard time, I always manage to get through the day without hitting or corporally punishing my students. You see my students are Black and Hispanic, two of the worst kinds of students, and I managed to teach them without touching them or striking them. I think that is a skill that shines and I should put here. Other skills include teaching Chemistry or Physics or even Math. My skills are very wide in terms of teaching. I also am good with any Microsoft products and have some knowledge with Java.
