I have over 3 years teaching experiences. I started my teaching journey in 2019 working for SMARTPREP which is a private tutoring company . On the other hand, my online ESL teaching began in 2021. Both of these teaching have taught me good communication skills, adaptability, patience and a good listener. I have such a bubbly personality which makes me to be approachable, and it's to build a rapport with my students. Also, makes students to engage with me freely which is an important part of learning. I am a people person who loves the idea of experiencing somthing new, someone ready to take on challenges and conquer them. This past year, I have been working as an ESL teacher in Thailand, as well as an online English tutor for students around the world. I taught English, Mathematics, Science, Health, Computer, and Social Studies to grades 3, 4, 5, and 6. I am an extroverted and optimistic individual who seeks adventure and challenges. Key factors included the location of the institution since South Korea is a beautiful destination I have always longed to visit. Another is the age range of the students since I have experience working with children aged between five and twelve in a sports coaching role. I relish the opportunity to be immersed in a new culture and to thrive in a fresh environment that is vastly different to my own. Spreading my own knowledge and culture through the art of English language teaching, using a blend of my own teaching techniques with techniques that are proven, tried and tested.

I hold a BSc (Hons) degree and a TEFL/TESOL 120-Hour Premier Course Certificate. I am close to attaining my TEFL/TESOL 40-Hour Exam Preparation Course Certificate whilst presently working as an online English tutor. However, I have reached a stage where I want to break free from the confines of online teaching to teach English language in a new environment, using my academic skills and work experience to maximum effect in a classroom setting.

Now, I aim to combine transferrable skills from my youth sports coaching role with recent qualifications and experience acquired as a TEFL certified teacher. I believe my invaluable knowledge of coaching children aged between five and twelve years old has equipped me with the ability and understanding to lead and teach groups of a varied age range and ability.

However, I yearn for a fresh challenge that can provide room for academic growth and career progression whilst embarking on a once in a lifetime adventure. I don't have any experience in teaching but I worked in an exercise clinic for a year and a half in Vancouver that gave me plenty experience in leading a groups of individuals and educating them in health. In this position I was responsible for leading online classes, taking a group of 4-8 through an exercise programme, guiding them in how to perform exercises correctly and answering any questions they had in relation to those exercises or just to their general health and fitness. I also supervised sessions within the clinic and acted as a support system and educator to the members we had, making sure they were performing exercises safely and correctly and also being a motivator for them to help them through their exercise routine. This position provided me with so much responsibility and allowed me to become more confident in teaching exercises and helping my members progress and adapt a healthier way of life.
My personality is very upbeat and happy, I can be shy in the beginning but very quickly come out of my shell when I am comfortable with my surroundings. I am very active and enjoy the gym and outdoor activities, I love cooking and trying new things and I love visiting new places.
In terms of my skills, I would say I have strong organizational skills, I am a good team player and work well with others, I have a good work ethic and always make sure I am prepared for my day at work.

I have often been entrusted with mentor and training positions throughout university and my career. At university, I was part of my department’s ‘Parent Scheme’ which paired 2nd/3rd year students with 1st years to provide guidance. This ranged from general advice about the university to supporting them with their university courses and tutoring. The above experiences go some way to compensate for my not having direct classroom experience.
Throughout my career, I have regularly been relied upon to train new joiners to our company. I provided support, guidance and training across our platforms, the company’s ways of working and the marketing industry. A large part of my current role in Customer Success involves training new clients on our company’s platform. It is essential to communicate clearly and effectively to ensure your clients have all the tools and information they need to eventually use the platform independently. The skills used in this aspect of my role are highly transferable to those needed for teaching.

I am empathetic, patient and confident, which are all essential traits of a successful teacher.
Empathy is an important tool that can help you better understand what is driving your students’ attitude to learning and find strategies to help. It also contributes to developing a good working relationship with students.
Patience is key as all students learn at different rates and it is important to persevere and support each student in their learning journey.
Having confidence improves your overall performance and effectiveness as a teacher, especially confidence in subject knowledge.

During my career in Customer Success, I have developed my strong interpersonal skills owing to the nature of the role which required me to work with a wide variety of different individuals either as clients or in the company’s internal teams.
I am highly organised as shown by successfully supporting clients with their campaign development and delivery, often working to tight deadlines. This skill is essential in teaching, especially with lesson planning, to make sure that all are planned out with a clear structure and goals in mind to ensure the students get the most out of each lesson.
I am adaptable, with experience in changing project plans to new requirements whilst maintaining a high standard work and delivery. No two lessons are the same and being adaptable will enable me to react appropriately to every situation which might arise during a lesson.
