As a professional writer and English tutor with a strong focus on student-centered, creative learning, I can bring a unique perspective to this role. I am TEFL and TESOL certified and can easily follow the school’s curricular guidance as an ESL instructor. My strong improvisation and problem-solving skills allow me to handle last-minute challenges in the classroom with ease, ensuring that students' learning is not disrupted.
Before teaching English, I was a teaching artist for creative writing and theater for over ten years and have taught ages 3-17 and adults, with most of my experience being with high schoolers and adults. As a member of the LA Korean-English Language Exchange, I also work with adult English learners on a weekly basis. With a Bachelor's degree from Emerson College and a TEFL & TESOL certification from The TEFL Org, I have gained a solid foundation in effective communication and language teaching methodologies and techniques and can easily tailor them to students’ needs.
In addition to my teaching expertise, I am proficient in graphic design and various software programs such as Zoom, Microsoft, Adobe, and Google Suites & Classroom, event and activity planning and management, and more.
