I have been long interested in teaching English. In 2017, I moved to Korea and taught in both Gyeonggi-do and Gimcheon-si to elementary and middle school students which involved teaching from both a set curriculum as well as developing my own. I specialized in speaking and writing, TOEFL prep and reading, and also held debate and book-club classes. I am comfortable teaching any size class, as well as any level and age. In 2019, I relocated to Berlin, Germany and briefly taught Business English at a number of global companies, university research centers and the Berlin Senate. I was also the personal tutor for the Western Europe CEO of VINCI Energies. After returning to the UK in the summer of 2019, I began studying for my Masters TESOL at Swansea University, and will submit my thesis in December 2020. Currently in the midst of a global pandemic, I am teaching English primarily to young learners online and I absolutely love it.
I have become especially interested in linguistics and English for young language learners, and have produced a few studies on ESL material development. I am hard-working, diligent, friendly and approachable with a great attitude to work and have formed excellent working relationships with past employers and colleagues. Teaching English is truly a passion of mine and I hope it is something I will be able to do for the long-term.
I am TEFL qualified, have a BA Geography degree and a soon to be granted MA TESOL degree, and that combined with my experiences and enthusiasm lead me to believe that I will be an asset to your school. Thank you for taking the time to consider my application. Best wishes.
