Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to express my interest in a TEFL position in Seoul, South Korea, as advertised on your website. I have a passion for teaching English and following the recent completion of my BA (Hons) degree in the UK, I have undertaken teaching placements in both primary and secondary schools. I believe in my ability to successfully support your programme and teach English to students in South Korea.
I have an interest in fashion and popular culture. I undertook a degree in Fashion Design, which taught me to think for myself, use my initiative and solve complex problems. I have gained self-discipline and a resilient work ethic that will be beneficial for my future. While researching and learning about fashion across the world I discovered South Korea’s influence in fashion and the creative industry that is spreading globally. I am excited to explore South Korean culture while working in a job that is rewarding and along side people who may share similar interests.
As part of my most recent work placement, I successfully taught interactive and engaging lessons tailored to the needs of differing abilities. My experience working with students from various cultural backgrounds has helped me to adapt my teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles. I found teaching the English language to students very rewarding, particularly when seeing their progress and attainment. I am confident in my capacity to foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
I hold a level 5, 168 hour TEFL certification from the TEFL Academy, where I acquired valuable insights into effective language teaching methodologies and classroom management techniques. I learnt a variety of lesson planning methods and how to create engaging and interesting lessons for all age groups and levels. The course has given me a great amount of knowledge and experience providing a solid starting point which I can now build and improve upon.
I am excited about the prospect of working in South Korea, and that my passion for teaching, coupled with my relevant experience and dedication, make me an ideal candidate for a TEFL position within your organisation. I welcome the opportunity to discuss further how my skills align with your needs. Thank you for taking the time to read my CV and I look forward to hearing from you.
Yours faithfully,
Eva Courtney
