Thank you for taking the time to look over my information with regards to any relevant part/full-time teaching positions in Gangnam. I am keen to hear of any opportunities in English Literature with High School level students as I have additional experience in university admissions consultation, which I believe could be invaluable to students looking toward international study.

Having graduated with a First Class degree in English (language & literature) from King's College London in 2020, I went on to work as a teaching assistant in a local secondary school. Here I worked with students with a number of Special Educational Needs and gained experience in teaching small and larger groups of students, as well as 1-2-1 sessions with phonics and literature. I am really eager to find a position which enhances this experience in an international context and would be interested to hear more about positions teaching English Literature and essay writing.

I have a genuine passion for English Literature and was lucky enough to study the subject at degree level in London—in and amongst some of the UK’s most historic educational sites such as The Globe, the British Library and British Museum. In my degree, I loved to examine texts alongside these with other elements of history, the visual arts and science, with particular reference to Romantic era poetry. I’d be delighted to talk at length about the research projects I undertook during my bachelor’s degree and would be sure to communicate my enthusiasm for the subject with students. I have always had an awareness for the importance of education; from elected head girl in my sixth form, I continued to excel academically at KCL. My degree certainly illustrates superior written and oral communication skills, with a particular proficiency for essay writing. Feedback on my dissertation described my ‘strong aptitude for original writing and research’, which culminated an overall First for my degree.

Furthermore, I would be really interested in assisting students with their application for Higher Education. For the last year, I have been working with Cambridge Education Group (who run both ONCAMPUS foundation courses, and online degrees with CEG: Digital), as a Student Recruitment Consultant. Here, I assisted students into gaining admission to online postgraduate degree programmes with The University of Central Lancashire. Providing support for students all over the world, I was able to share my expertise of the UK admissions process to enable their better access to university. Not only was it about providing feedback on personal statements and explaining IELTS examinations and admission processes but also bridging the cultural gap, which has the potential to alienate international students from UK study. It has given me immense acumen in terms of UK admissions and using my unique experience I know I can provide international students valuable insight into UK Higher Education, to help them make the most out of their time in school. I also gained an Assistant Level certificate with the British Council in educational counselling for UK universities, which has provided me with even further insight into the international student journey. Beyond teaching, working with students for admissions consulting and essay advising are certainly within my capabilities, so I would be particularly interested to hear about opportunities with students at high school level.

I am academically and professionally ambitious, with a drive to succeed that motivates those around me. Colleagues would describe me as reliable and most importantly enthusiastic, qualities which certainly enhance my experience in education. Once again, thank you for you consideration and I look forward to hearing from you.
