My name is Dylan Arthur Manning, And I am looking for a teaching opportunity in Korea.
I have always been passionate about seeing and ensuring young people progress, and succeed in Education.I am deeply invested in understanding the barriers that one might encounter in learning, and my role in dismantling them.I believe that language is one of the most important and difficult barriers to education and success that people encounter.
I have over a year's experience working as both a teacher covering a diverse range of subjects and gaining familiarity and knowledge of how to help people achieve their goals in a curriculum and as a support, primarily focused on working with children with speech and language difficulties. This experience gives me invaluable insight and confidence in allowing me to ensure children who either do not have English as their first language or the confidence in the language to be able to flourish and succeed in progressing.
I would love to work in Korea as I have always held a deep respect and fascination for the culture and lives of people who live there. I find it exciting to immerse myself in a culture unlike my own and learn myself, the differences in a number of things, the etiquette, the types of entertainment and to meet and interact with people who I wouldn’t have the chance to if I stayed in one country. All of this greatly excites and fascinates me as a culturally enriching experience for both parties that I believe I would be an excellent part of.
I am very familiar with teaching in a range of environments from 1:1 work all the way to larger classes of 30 students. My background as a special needs educator as well as leading large drama workshops and projects as part of my community and university theatre scenes has developed my knowledge in both areas. My familiarity with larger groups compliments my experience of a more 1:1 approach to learning I often take working within SEN. Wherein I am able to directly steer and devise a curriculum more tailored to a students ability and adapt learning on the go to suit their pace, and reach the standard schools desire.
I encourage and foster a high standard of learning having graduated with an upper second class honours in History from King’s college London, while maintaining my extra-curricular passions as head of university theatre society. Alongside this I have a qualification from the TEFL organisation having completed their 120-Hour long course, with much of the tutoring and learning I have received being valuable in further honing my skills working within speech and language.
I am a highly valuable asset able to approach learning flexibly with my experience running workshops and a deep interest in fostering a strong relationship within my classrooms. This ensures that everyone is able to gain the confidence they need to fully achieve and access their learning and potential.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. I look forward to hearing from you and building a relationship where we are able to create a future where the standard of education is higher and more accessible for all.
