Hello! My name is Elizabeth Havens Aleong. I am 24 years old and from Midlothian, Virginia in the United States of America. I hold a degree in Liberal Arts with a concentration in literature. A few things about me- first, my mother has been a teach since before I was born. I have been going to school for all my life. Through her, I got to see the impact she has had on lives throughout her career. She still receives messages and visits from her now adult students. Would like to have a lasting impact on a child’s life as well. I would like to see them grow into confident English learners and have them enjoy learning. I am going to provide a compassionate happy learning environment, just like my mother did. In my Liberal Arts major, I maintained a 4.0 average in literature and a 3.5 in writing. I’ll use my experience as a student to guide my students into success. I want to pursue my passions of teaching and serving. I have been working as an intermittent Sunday school teacher since 2019. Recently I have been volunteering at a daycare for more hands on experience. I would also like to experience new ideas and concepts. You can learn absolutely anything if you open your heart and mind to it. Even children can teach you something if you give them the opportunity. I will have an open mind and give every experience a chance when new opportunities present themselves. I will be compassionate and empathic towards my students. Learning a foreign language can be tough but, it does not have to be a negative experience.
