I am writing to express my interest in teaching English as a foreign language in your institution. My extensive experience learning foreign languages makes me an ideal candidate that will help our students stay motivated and committed to their learning. I myself developed these strengths in order to successfully learn Spanish. In 2017, I was granted a scholarship to study abroad at Colombia’s Los Andes University. While on exchange, I successfully completed Spanish level B2, learned how to dance salsa, and made lifelong friendships.
I am looking at the opportunity of teaching in Korea with light in my eyes. I chose this destination because of its respectability. I have heard that Koreans are hard-workers, innovative, creative, and always « one step ahead » in relation to the rest of the world. I am eager to live in a country motivated by success and, to contribute to its success by teaching the most important tool to maintain it: communication.
As a musician, I developed a good ear. Listening is as important as speaking. Music can be compared to waves that come and go from the ocean to the shore. I say with confidence that I have the ability to channel these waves in order to produce results. Whether it be a song or an English lesson, I have the ability to transcend a person’s ignorance in order to give them a gift: knowledge.
I am a native English speaker looking for a new language to learn, a new challenge to tackle, and new relationships to build. I see all those elements, along with a professional experience teaching at your school, as the potential gifts that I will earn from working in Korea.
