My experience as an English Language Assistant has developed a passion and personal commitment to
three things: fostering a positive learning environment for students of various ages and backgrounds,
maximising individual student performance and developing student interest in English language and English and American culture. I feel that I am a perfect match for the open Teacher position at your school.

In my most recent position an English Language Assistant in Spain, I developed highly effective lesson plans and motivational exercises that promoted interest and knowledge retention. I have also been highly successful in helping children across a wide spectrum of ages from 4 to 18 and gained the ability to tailor each of my lesson plans and activities to the class I am working with. I believe each student should be treated as an individual and, as such, each lesson should be tailored to suit the class in question in order for them to reach their maximum learning potential.

While in this position, my focus was on the facilitation and encouragement of conversation in the classroom. I believe speaking and listening are just as important as reading and writing when developing life-long English speakers. It is my aim when in the classroom to build interest and confidence in my students so that English is something fun they want to learn, rather than something they have to learn.

I am well-travelled and, through my time working at the Centre of English Studies Leeds, I am experienced in engaging students from a diverse range of cultures and ethnic backgrounds. While I was there I worked as a summer school social coordinator, in charge of taking groups of students on excursions and activities across the city and further afield. My students at the time came from across the world, from Argentina and Germany to Taiwan and Russia and my role at the English Academy was to encourage English conversation and comfort with the language outside the classroom.

By using traditional teaching methods I learnt in my 150 hour TELF course and the innovative methods I developed working as an English Language Assistant, I believe I'll make an English Teacher who is engaging and enthusiastic in hands-on learning with students. Working with my youngest students in Spain also made me patient and dedicated to promoting interactive learning within a group environment.

I am confident that my background in education will be a valuable asset to your school and I look forward to the opportunity to discuss this position further. Please find my attached CV, and I hope you will find me suitable for this position.
