SAT/AP Teachers

I am a recently graduated Mechanical Engineer with a minor in mathematics, but I have found that my passions lie more in teaching than in Engineering work.

I graduated from High School in the top three percent of my class of 700 students and qualified to go to college with a substantial academic scholarship due to my SAT score of 1460. As a mechanical engineer I took Calculus 1, 2, 3, as well as partial differencial equations and advanced linear algebra. I also took honors physics and many classes about solid and fluid dynamics.

During my time at the University of Houston I taught University Physics as a PF (Peer Facilitator) for four semesters and found it one of the most rewarding jobs I've ever had. As a PF I would attend weekly meetings with a lead teacher and other PFs and we would discuss that week's physics material. Then, during the week, I and a partner would lead four one-hour recitations during which we helped the students struggling in class. We would do examples for them, as well as put them in groups and have them do different practice problems of increasing difficulty.

As for my personality, I am a hard worker who is enthusiastic about physics, math, and South Korean culture! My number one priority is my students, and I believe that anyone can succeed.

Having a degree in Mechanical Engineering means that I have lots of experience in math and physics. I am currently taking my Alternative Certification Program to get my license to teach in Texas.

Experience:
As of May of this year, I will have successfully attained my Bachelors degree at the University of Pennsylvania with a predicted GPA of 3.76. In satisfying the requirements of the degree, I will have completed: Penn's language requirement (indicating proficiency in French), Penn's writing requirements (demonstrating capable writing skills), as well as its general sector requirements (indicating success in a wide variety of disciplines). During my time at Penn I have acquired teaching experience through my involvement in the Penn Tutoring Center where I was tasked with developing 1-on-1 lessons for students struggling in Econ001(microeconomics) and Econ002(macroeconomics).

Personality and Skills:
I see myself as a driven and motivated student who has a comprehensive understanding of what it takes to succeed in an Ivy League environment. I'd like to leverage these skills to help students to reach their academic goals and at the same time explore the world and expose myself to different cultural experiences.

I am an experienced English teacher and a passionate learner and traveler. I love to travel to new places and meet new people, and I think that one excellent way of doing this is through teaching English, because in the classroom I have a platform to share my own language and culture, while at the same time learning about a new one. In my classroom I am always energetic and enthusiastic, but also patient and a good listener. I love answering student questions and learning along with the students. I have been known to make fun and productive lessons out of even the driest material. I think that a patience, understanding, and enthusiasm are the most important traits for a teacher to have, along with the skill of clear explanation and command over the classroom, which I have learned from experience. I have experience working with all ages, from young children to adults, many subjects, and many forms of classroom, from one-on-one, to team teaching to leading my own classroom. By now, I am confident that I can handle any classroom with a smile.

I graduated University in Korea. I had a job in Private company for 7years. My job was working as secretary. And I am living in Nanjing, China. Because I married with chinese man last year. In China, I spend a lovely life.
Actually I have a korean teaching license. I knew that It is not included in SAT subjects. But what I want to say that I have ability to teach lovely students.
My major in University is “International Area”. I am specialized in history, economy related to US.

I am confident that my academic and international experiences have afforded me strong foundation skills of teaching, organizing and communicating with colleagues in the field. These features qualified me of assimilating to every organization easily. During college years, I could develop myself as a great multi-tasker and great mediator. After many international experiences, I gained global insight, open mindset. While living in Germany as an exchange student, I registered for not only my major courses for Linguistics and English literature and cultures, but also many philosophy class and social studies class which could improve my liberal arts knowledge. It fostered me to become a more independent and globalized student. After studying for becoming a teacher, I gained deep understanding of English linguistics regarding syntax, phonology, phonetics, semantics, and pragmatics. Furthermore, as majored in Education, I had earned a lot of studying and consulting experiences in the field of education, psychology and consultation. Additionally, though I do not have Toefl score or others for AP teaching, I can achieve those in no time thanks to the previous experiences of Toefl studying. Further, I am brave enough to share diverse ideas with people around and behave according to them. I've been teaching English for almost twenty years and have been successful in this career. Teaching SAT to Korean students in China will be an another opportunity to broaden my career.
I am an easy-going person with high achievement goals.
I'm also a people person and always have been well accepted.
I'm also a well rounded person. I learn things fast and have great ability to create new things. I can write songs and play various musical instruments. I am also able to shoot and edit videos.

Growth process
Under the motto "Do your best in everything," I was able to maintain consistency in concentrating all my efforts and doing my best without regret every moment.

School Days
I moved to France before graduating from elementary school. Having lived in Paris for six years, I not only became fluent in English and French, but also learned how to adapt to the new environment, and how to think with people of different personalities. I also came back to Korea and attended high school and had a meaningful opportunity to overcome difficulties such as cultural and linguistic barriers.

Personality
Based on the idea of ​​caring for others and keeping a positive ambience with a bright smile, I challenge myself aggressively. I love to meet people and to spend with people because of such traits.

Career
I wanted to find aptitude to study and acquire French language proficiency test (DALF C1, AP 5 points) and English language test score (TOEFL 115 or higher). I have also worked as a teacher in school programs teaching TOEFL and DELF. Moreover, I have a career in English debate and Model United Nations conferences.
Furthermore, I am also interested in arts; I have been participating in a cappella, violin ensemble, musicals and so on.

Motive
I believe that opportunity is not only given by waiting passively but by repeating endless efforts and making it oneself. So, I would like to take this challenge so as not to be satisfied with the small experience but to jump over to the wider world.

I have lived in an environment where I could easily access foreign countries since I was young thanks to my father's occupation. In the summer of my first year of elementary school, I went to my uncle's house in China, and I started living with foreign friends while attending a local school in Weihai, China.

Although the environment that changed since childhood sometimes made life difficult and fearful, life in a foreign country was not that bad. The unsparing attention and love that my parents gave me at every difficult time became the most powerful.

Also, I accepted that English was a barrier to be overcome, so I did not complain and I was able to adjust to school life with the consideration and positive support from my foreign teachers.

I do believe in the cruciality of an educator in a student's learning experience and their academic performances. Working in my previous workplace have reminded me again of how much I have wanted to become a teacher in an international school. I am confident that my skills and experiences make me a perfect fit for the position.

I had taght English almost for 6 years and had always got along with students very well.
I am amiable and encouraging, open-minded person. And also good listner.
Although I don't have any teaching experience of SAT and AP, I am very sure I can teach critical reading and English grammar very well and English Literature, too.
I can teach both in English and in Korean.
