Hello!

My name is Jin (John), and I'm from New York, having graduated in 2014 through New York University with a bachelor's degree. I currently reside in South Korea with an F4 visa, and I'd love to offer over five years of English tutoring in reading comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, essay writing, and SAT/AP prep.

In terms of personality, I do my best to set an engaging atmosphere where I encourage the students to share their thoughts and experiences, developing their confidence and ability to connect with others. I empathize with difficulty and focus on what steps we can take to address issues and continue productivity. My skills include tutoring for English fluency, copyediting essays and manuscripts, interview and speech coaching, and general academic consultation.

I'm an approachable person with a calm and gentle personality. My parents always taught me to be honest and courteous. Under their guidance, I grew up well without being astrayed.

In my opinion, my biggest advantage is mildness. I don't get mad easily, but when I do, I usually just step back, leave the place if possible and try to analyze the situation.
It makes me cool down and when I get calm, I try to resolve the disagreement by having some unbuilding conversation.

I had many opportunities to experience abroad since I was young. Starting with my first trip to Europe in the fourth grade of Primary school, I immigrated to Australia with my family and lived there for around 4 years.

After that, I returned to Korea at the age of high school student and traveled many countries. Malaysia, Singapore, China, Thailand etc. Traveling experience taught me about the importance of language, I thanked my parents so much for the great chances they gave me, which helped me to speak English. At the same time, I started to notice that there are a lot of Chinese, mostly everywhere. Therefore, I decided to enter a university in Beijing, China.

Studying abroad was never easy at a young age. But there was so much to gain. There was scholarship system in the school, so I studied hard to get a scholarship for all four years. Sometimes I ended up receiving just half scholarship, but I was able to get it every semester.
In addition, I also participated in activities such as writing and speaking competitions in school.

Now I've become a person of tenacity and responsibility, and I've become a person who mixes well with society

I have helped maximize the academic potential of my students by assisting them with SAT and ACT preparation. I look forward to finding a teaching opportunity in South Korea where I can continue to help Korean students get into their dream colleges and universities.

I have about 11 years of teaching experience. Currently, I specialize in teaching IB and AP subjects, and I am very confident in teaching IB/AP Economics because I majored in trade and business including Microeconomics and Macroeconomics in university. As I have been teaching IB/AP Economics for five years, most of my students have earned A*-A in IB and 5 in AP Economics. I have a deep academic understanding of Economics, know what theories students find difficult, and know how to teach them easily. I know how to teach classes efficiently because I have a certificate of international English teacher, GETQA, and have 160 hours of TESOL Diploma. My experience as a teacher at Beijing 65 Middle School is a case of actual use of that expertise. Also, I have taught students of various ages from kindergarten to adults for 11 years, so I think my ability to cope with various situations is better than anyone else. Since I’ve also been teaching online classes using Zoom, I can teach students online without any difficulties when online classes are needed.
