ESL Teachers

I am a recent graduate of the University of Brighton with a 2:1 in BA (Hons) English Literature. During University I spent a year studying in the Netherlands and realised I would love a career that allowed me to use my degree and experience other countries' culture and daily life at the same time. I have completed the 140-Hour Premier TEFL Course which allowed for a combination of classroom and online study, all of which was finished to the best of my ability.

I have experience in similar areas to teaching including growing up as the daughter of a childminder and thus actively helping take care of the young children, being a peer mentor during secondary school, and being a college ambassador in sixth form. Each role has put me in situations where I have been responsible for the well-being of younger children/ students, helping them with anything from homework to communicating with their teachers/ tutors. I also have teaching experience from my time with TEFL, and in the Netherlands. Through TEFL I have learnt a lot more about the planning and preparation stages of teaching and how to effectively put these into practice. Whereas, in the Netherlands I began to understand the significance of being able to communicate directly with native speakers whether it was Dutch friends wanting to learn more about English, or myself wanting to expand my Dutch.

I am someone who strives to complete all my tasks to the best standard I can. I aim to provide a environment that is safe and comfortable for students to learn and practice within so that they can feel confident using the language in and out of the classroom. As a new teacher I know that I am not the most experienced however I am very willing to continue learning and growing alongside my students.

I am a recent college graduate from Moody Theological Seminary who is passionate about the opportunity to work with children. I have worked many different jobs working with children, ranging from all ages. I have learned through experience how to work with kids in a different environments. I worked multiple summers as a camp counselor and through this job I was required to work with kids 17 hours every single day. I was responsible for their safety and for their enjoyment. I was in charge of planning lessons, chapel, events, and their well being. I have learned what it means to have patience when working with kids. I believe that my strength is developing personal relationships with kids and also my ability to demonstrate patience with all around me.

I have also helped at Loyola University of Chicago with their ESL program for multiple semesters. I have the experience of working with different cultures while helping them with their English vocab, lessons, and understanding. My previous experiences have helped shape my passion for both children and also teaching. I believe in investing in relationships with students, especially children, as I see the importance in growing, shaping, and helping them develop into the person they are to become.

My personality really thrives in relationships as I am eager to meet new people and to build relationships. I truly have a passion for kids and I do desire to work with children in the future. I know what it is like to work under many different circumstance and environments. I am flexible and can thrive under all different situations. I love being patient with children as I was demonstrated patience when I was a child. I work well under pressure and am punctual in what I do. The opportunity to teach in Korea would grant me the chance to fulfill my calling to teach the English language efficiently and effectively to non-native speakers. Up to this point my long life experience has been geared toward the teaching of the English language to people across the world. My recent position as an assistant language teacher in Santiago, Chile compelled me to further my English teaching career outside of the United States. Also, my teaching assistant position in a United States public elementary school provided me with purpose to further my teaching career. Currently, my desire is to share what I have learned throughout my teaching journey and I believe Korea is the place to bestow my pedagogical knowledge. As a history major in college, the study of Korea intrigued me. Working and living in Korea would grant me the opportunity to share and exchange perspectives with Korean citizens. By communicating with Korean citizens I will be able to share what it is to be a native from the United States and learn about everyday experiences through the Korean perspective. Other than my strong desire to be an effective teacher and student, my interest in Korea’s profoundly complex historical epochs, cultural phenomenon and technological advancements have inspired me to want to teach ESL in Korea. Currently, I am teaching English in Colombia, I have been teaching here for the last 3 years.

I am a hardworking and confident individual who is a strong team leader and a team player. For example, I volunteered as an English teacher in a small town in Sudan for three months, whereby I taught and prepared lessons. Additionally, I am a patient, approachable and friendly individual. As a peer mentor at university, students were very comfortable in approaching me about any concerns they had with settling into university life and I gave advice where necessary. Additionally, I have excellent listening and communicational skills and I am a highly organised individual with outstanding time management. My experiences of being a volunteer teacher have enabled me to develop my interpersonal skills and organisational skills. I adapt well to new environments and I am keen to take on new tasks and challenges. Furthermore, I am creative and like to use different teaching techniques to make lessons as interactive, enjoyable and informative for the students.

I am a very dedicated, passionate and hardworking individual. I love working with people. I would really just love to be offered the opportunity to be able to teach English to children. I am a very organized, and i have great time management I skills. I have a National Diploma in Tourism Management( Cum Laude). I have 1 year experience in Retail/customer care. I also have 1 year experience in Hospitality/Tourism.

I have had volunteer experience at animal shelters and numerous team building activities and courses throughout my school life.
I am currerntly doing a 100 hour TEFL course and plan to complete it by the end of February.

I have 17 years of experience working at the Home Office as an Immigration officer and later specialising as a criminal and financial investigator.
In brief, I investigated organised crime groups involved in Immigration related crimes including human trafficking, people smuggling, Immigration fraud and deception.
Such work meant I had key organisational skills allowing me to successfully present a case to court and get a conviction.

I was thorough in my case and interview preparation, allowing me to obtain all evidence necessary for a case to be successful in court.

I have excellent communication skills. This meant I could communicate with suspects and victims with due diligence and also meant I could communicate exceptionally well with other law enforcement agencies, Government and court bodies. These skills also allowed me to communicate well with young children and young adults in vulnerable situations and otherwise.

I have a vast amount of experience in preparing and delivering training and work shops to Home Office staff, the police and other professional bodies.
I was the Equality and Diversity trainer within the South West region for the Home Office and delivered a vast amount of training on diversity issues and laws.
I was also the trainer for police officers in the region who needed training on Immigration laws and their rights as police officers.
I feel this experience will help me in preparing and delivering lessons which will be fun and informative for adults and children alike.

I have taught basic English to three children online whilst they were in Pakistan. The children are distant relatives who became orphaned a few years ago. The children have come to the UK where they have been adopted. In order to prepare them for life in the UK, I taught them grammar and vocabulary so that when they started school in the UK, they were on a level playing field with the other children.

I speak two other languages myself, Urdu and Punjabi.

I have completed a 150 premium course which I completed in Cardiff followed by the advanced 30 hour course on teaching young children.

I am a recent university graduate seeking a teaching position in South Korea. I have a keen interest in languages, having studied German at university and I am currently starting beginner's Korean. I aim to develop the teaching skills I acquired during my time as a language assistant in a local high school and develop my studies of Korean language and culture. I recently decided to travel independently to South Korea for two weeks where I discovered I could adapt easily to my Korean host family's schedule and enjoyed experiencing a new culture enormously. At my current job we run scuba diving courses and PADI qualifications, and as a part of that I was asked to supervise children's scuba parties, where I found that I really enjoy working with children. I am now asked to organize games and activities after the positive feedback I received from parents and children. I also completed my Emergency First Response course which included skills like CPR and emergency secondary care so that I could ensure responsibility for the safety of a group as well as games and fun. During my time working for a family-run scuba business I learned the importance of forming a bond with the local diving community and found that a naturally friendly and open nature really helped me engage with the customers and get know people as individuals. I am eager to tie these experiences into teaching and look forward to starting my new career.

I'm an energetic and creative teacher, with a professional attitude and a real desire to help students achieve their full potential. I have three years’ experience teaching English in China and Korea, and I have completed my CELTA.

I have a passion for the English language, as evidenced by my BA (Hons) in Creative Writing. My experience during the course, and my own work outside of it, have given me an excellent level of written English.

I’m sociable, and have the ability to get along well with people from a range of backgrounds. I also have the ability to adapt to different working environments and cultures.
