ESL Teachers

Through the TEFL classroom course and through my previous teaching experience, I have demonstrated that I am an active, confident, conscientious and well-organised teacher with a can-do attitude. I have taught students who were beginner-level English speakers, some of who had no previous English language experience. Using games, activities and visual aid I was able to make my lessons enjoyable and keep my students engaged and interested in the learning experience. As a result, each student showed marked improvement across all four major language skills.

I am a creative, empathetic and sociable person. In particular, I enjoy building relationships with all my students so I can identify their strengths and support them in their learning. I am deeply caring, a very good communicator, and can create a classroom environment for the children to feel comfortable and confident.

My undergraduate degree at SOAS involved studying in Korea for 1 year and as a result I am well-versed in the Korean language. I also understand Korean values and culture, and so I am able to adapt my teaching and communication styles to suit the cultural norms of the children. Prioritising the children comfort and learning experience by conducting classes suitable to Korea’s culture is of utmost importance to me.

I have freshly completed my Bachelor of Science degree and a TEFL 120 hour combined course and am looking for my first experience as an EL Teacher. Though, I lack experience in teaching, I compensate for this with an eagerness to learn and high level of enthusiasm. From my travels around the globe and especially living abroad for a year in Australia I mixed with a lot of internationals where I discovered a passion to learn about new cultures. I’ve lead many assessments during my degree, practising my presentation skills and captained various hockey sides, skills I believe to be very transferable to the classroom setting. I would describe myself as a very personable, approachable and smiley person who enjoys problem solving and interacting with others. I believe I would make a fantastic addition to your school.

As a supervisor at my current job, I exhibit strong leadership skills and am great at problem solving, team building and showing others how to carry out tasks effectively. The people in my life would describe me as energetic and as someone with a lot of patience and understanding. I also have experience caring for children over the past several years and have gained a lot of insight on how to connect with them and help them learn.

A former Radio show host, translator, interpreter and language exchange meet-up organiser with a good understanding of Asian and European culture, especially about Korea and England. I describe myself as an effective communicator and team player due to skills obtained from a wide work experience.

I am naturally sociable and positive as a person hence why I worked as a volunteer in London helping people including North Koreans, supporting individuals with difficulties through my bilingual language and social skill. (Native/fluent in both English and Korea, I have English accent when speaking English and speak with Korean accent when speaking Korean)

Having worked in an UK high school for the last eight years, I have a lot of working experience teaching students. Furthermore, I have directed an amateur film company and qualified as a sports coach to lead a community jogging group. All of these experience have allowed me to hone teaching and leadership skills which I can bring back to the class room. I find a great deal of my success with these groups comes from my confident, friendly attitude.

Throughout August 2016 to June 2017, I worked as a teaching assistant at a middle school in Harlem, New York City for an after school program called Reel Works. I worked with 6th grade students and taught them basic videography and editing skills as well as simple animation. The after school also consisted of helping the students with their homework. Reel Works trained me in social and emotional learning, behavioral management, first aid, and classroom facilitation. Working with more than thirty 6th grade students who have been through various difficult living circumstances have really expanded my compassion and patience. At times it was very difficult, but the work was truly rewarding when I helped students feel better or learn something new. I believe that the role of a teacher is really important for students to feel like they can have fun learning something new in an environment where they feel safe enough to be themselves.

As a Korean person who has lived overseas most of her life, from Hong Kong, to the Philippines, to Canada and the United States, I want to be able to share my experiences with my students while understanding and meeting their needs. I would love to work with elementary students and teach them English in a fun and engaging way. From having multiple ESL teachers since 1st grade, I want to emulate the ways in which those teachers have shown me the compassion and understanding it takes to nurture a child's learning experience with English.

I am currently employed as Master Tutor for the Learning Assistance Center at California State University Long Beach. I believe that the skills I have acquired through my studies in the Master’s program at my university and my teaching experiences have prepared me for a position as an English teacher. Since I was a young boy, I have always wanted to be a teacher and help students reach their goals.
As Master Tutor, I have tutored international students from all over the world. I have developed my abilities as an English teacher helping these students with English at the university level. I taught students by focusing on the four language skills: reading, writing, speaking, and listening. As Master Tutor, I also gained leadership experience training other English tutors.
Prior to my current job, I was an English teacher at GEOS Languages Plus, a private language institute in California. I gained experience teaching young children and adolescents from various countries, and learned how to properly manage a classroom while at the same time making learning fun for students of all ages.
I am passionate about teaching English because I am a life-long language learner. Learning a new language should be fun, and when the students enjoy being in class and studying then they will learn better. I am an outgoing person who loves to talk to people.

I am an enthusiastic person who is always friendly and smiling. As a sports therapy graduate, I am good at motivating people as well as teaching them new skills. I am also able to adapt to any situation I'm in. To work as a teacher, you would have to be patient with students when they're learning something new. Being patient is something that comes naturally to me .

Even though I have no previous teaching experience, I have experience working with children. I did some volunteering whilst i was at school with a holiday scheme/after school club for refugee/ asylum seekers' children. Here i was able to hone my organisation, planning, creativity and communication skills as i sometimes had plan sessions. I have also coached children in football and worked in a nursery.

I am nearing completion of my 120-hour TEFL course and I am looking to start teaching English in the New Year.

I am currently a personal trainer at Feelfit Gym in Oxford and teach a number of fitness classes as part of my role. Recently I travelled to Asia and had some amazing experiences, meeting people and immersing myself in local culture.

I first discovered a passion for teaching when I volunteered at a local primary school, teaching English to children aged 4 – 11. I would now like to combine my passion for teaching with my love of travel, and teach English as a foreign language in Asia.
