Given my personal and professional background, I believe I have the qualities and skills to accomplish the mission of your organization by orchestrating creative opportunities to enrich the children’s experiences and collaborating with the team members to make learning engaging and enjoyable.

My experience as an administrator, grant writer, researcher, and educator will allow me to effectively contribute to the every-day logistics at the school as well as to its current and future programming and events. Additionally, as a an educator, for the arts and English, my experience with working with children and the youth, both in The United States and in Korea has prepared me for the expectations and responsibilities that come with building up and encouraging children. My attention to detail, accountability, and ability to successfully develop and implement multiple projects in a timely manner have set me up for success in managing various projects and events, collaborating as an innovative voice of the staff, identifying success and areas of improvement, and bringing a positive and unique perspective to the organization.

I desire to learn more about the education field as a whole, and therefore, look forward to this opportunity to participate in an organization that fosters creativity and education through interactive and holistic learning.

I am currently working as an ESL teacher in Thailand, with my partner Emlyn Pool. I teach large classes up to 45 students, executing methods in which to adapt and tailor each class. I was quick to learn the importance of understanding the needs within each class, whether it's different personalities, different abilities and even varying moods each week.

I enjoy applying different modes and methods to individuals receiving the same curriculum, understanding specific learning requirements. It is common for students learning English as a foreign language, particularly in Asia, that they are well versed in reading and writing, yet their speaking and listening skills can be lacking, often due to a lack of exposure to native speakers and a feeling of nervousness or shyness. My approach is to provide them a strong and inclusive leader, making the students feel comfortable to have fun, relax and enjoy speaking English. I strongly believe that if students are having fun and learning in a positive environment, they will focus better and so enjoy the learning process, resulting in a greater progression.

I am proud to have tutored on a one-to-one basis for English competition students as well as being part of the school's initiative to provide English conversation for the school's staff. Teaching smaller classes and one on one can have much better benefits in being able to tailor to more specific needs and to see progress in its greatest form.

Since November 2017, I have started online teaching. This has been hugely helpful in my career development. I am learning the ever important use of TPR and realia and again, the need for tailoring each class to its own; general conversation, grammar as well as understanding the different teaching techniques required for individual needs.

I am a TEFL certified native English speaker, born and raised in London, England. I possess a Degree in English Language and Literature and I currently living and teaching successfully in Thailand with my partner Lydia. I have also completed numerous hours of one-to-one online teaching to students aged between 4 – 16 years of age. I am an intelligent and outgoing individual with almost 10 years previous professional experience working in the Film & Television industry. A career in the media has provided me a proven track record as a strong leader with an easy adaptability to ever-changing working environments. Friendly, diligent, approachable and an attentive listener; I possess the transferable skills and experience required to continue being exceptional ESL teacher.

I am a happy and enthusiastic teacher and enjoy going beyond the allotted lesson time, be it lesson planning and homework, decorating a class room, or helping to organise cultural events, assemblies and day trips. I want my teaching experience to be more than just the time spent in the classroom. Aside from my love of teaching English and writing journals, poems and short stories, my personal interests include cycling; regularly taking part in long distance events of up to 120 miles, keeping myself fit and athletic. I have a keen interest in music, regularly attending concerts, as well as being an avid guitarist. I am also proficient cook and like to explore international cuisines by cooking for friends and family. I continue to enjoy all of these interests whilst I am working in Asia, happy that they are enhancing my teaching style and further immersion into the culture.

I am particularly interested in living and teaching in South Korea as this is a place where education is taken seriously. I want to teach within a system that understands the importance of English as a foreign language. In Thailand I am used to teaching class sizes of up to 45 students, however as a personable teacher I am keen to teach address smaller classes, where I can offer more one-to-one tutoring and manage individuals specific needs and character.

After completing my TEFL certificate in 2016 I went on to obtain my MSc in Social Anthropology. Now I wish to move somewhere new and exciting to experience new cultures and use my TEFL to further my experience in teaching. Having lived and worked abroad before, I always look forward to new and challenging opportunities such as this one.

Through my academic career I was involved in voluntary work at a library, running and organising children's reading and craft sessions; I found this to be highly enjoyable and rewarding. I would be thrilled for a new opportunity to work with children.

I am an outgoing, full of life individual always looking for ways to make people smile. One of my strengths is that I am constantly reflecting on my practice and looking for ways to improve myself. I believe I can adapt well put into any environment seeing that I come from a country that embraces various cultures, religions and languages. My previous experience teaching 2 – 3 year old children has taught me to become more patient, open-minded and eager to try something new everyday .I have an excellent sense of humour. I love to laugh and at times I would incorporate humour into my lessons so that the children gain an interest and pleasure in the lesson. I also love to hear the children's own laughter coming from the playground.

Experience
I have taught English to many different age groups in Korea for the past two years (2015-2017) in the Mokdong neighborhood. The different age groups that I have taught were pre-schoolers, kindergarteners, grade 1 students, grade 3 students, grade 5 students, and adults.
I have had many experiences working with young children in various learning environments in Canada. In terms of international work experiences, not including Korea, I have worked with kindergarten children in the United Kingdom in the summer of 2014. I can teach large groups of children as well as teach students one on one.

Personality
I am a caring, understanding, diligent, determined, and friendly educator. As an educator, I genuinely care for all my students and I want to ensure that they all succeed. As an individual, I always push myself to do better and be better. I welcome feedback in the workplace and strive to do my best for the students and myself.

Skills
I have a background in early childhood education and have had many experiences teaching various groups of children in different academic settings. I believe my background knowledge in early childhood gives me an advantage in teaching because I can use theories about child psychology and apply it to my practice. In terms of skills, I am extremely patient when working with children, as I know it can be difficult for some students to learn a foreign language. I am also organized and make sure that all tasks that needs to be completed are finished within a timely manner. Communication is extremely important in the workplace and I make certain that I understand what is expected of me as well as to express any important messages that needs to passed on to parents so there are no miscommunication.
