Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing in response to the SAT/TOEFL teacher position listed on Gloii Job Consulting website. With three years of experience including test preparation, ESL teaching experience in Korea and the native-level English language skills, I believe I would be an excellent candidate for the position.

In addition to my Bachelor of Science from Penn State University, I have recently completed a Master’s degree in International Relations from Georgetown University. While studying there, I have attained professional business fluency in Korean. Before completing my graduate studies, I taught English for three years at High School in Korea. There, I successfully prepared students for the SAT, NEAT and Korea’s College Scholastic Ability test. The variety of positions that I’ve held throughout my career show that I am adaptable, able to work independently, and deliver creative solutions to whatever challenges I encounter.

With a strong work ethic, the ability to excel in a fast-paced work environment and extensive test preparation experience, I am well positioned to exceed Gloii Job Consulting’s expectations. I am available for work full-time, and I have all of the required immigration documents in hand. I welcome the opportunity to discuss how I can help Gloii improve SAT, TOEFL, AP and IELTS outcomes for its clients. If you believe I may be a good match, I can be reached at the phone number and email address listed above. Thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely,
Brian

Dear Hiring Manager,

I am a personable teacher with a bevvy of experience teaching effective reading comprehension techniques and practices. Over the past two years, I have helped a number of students maximize their reading ability both through group and one on one tutoring sessions.

By employing evidence based coaching methods and through personalized feedback, I have helped innumerable students improve their TOEFL reading scores. Moreover, by focusing on both the specific techniques that can be utilized to address individual question types and the more general, widely applicable TOEFL question strategies, I have given my students a tool-set that will yield dividends throughout their life.

I try to maintain a relaxed and informal atmosphere; I strongly believe that learning can be fun. However, I am also very focused and never allow distractions to disrupt or derail my lessons.

Thank you for your time; I hope to hear from you soon.

Sincerely,
Talon Abernathy

When I started my job in Silicon Valley, I went from working part-time in my job to having 3 jobs. I worked as a math tutor and statistician for Stanford Athletics and San Francisco 49ers. I worked with middle and high school students in all subjects of math. I have a friendly, bright, and optimistic personality that helped me in my teaching job. For the statistician job, I sought out to the head coaches to obtain the job. Starting from high school, there was no job that allowed students to work on the football team besides an athlete. I reached out to the coaches and showed my passion and knowledge for the sport and my determination to help the team. I worked as a manager and statistician for high school, UC Davis, Stanford Athletics, and San Francisco 49ers. I am very determined and ambitious and like to think outside of the box.
I am fluent in English and Korean. I lived in Seoul, Korea for 14.5 years attending an American school. I understand the culture and language from both countries. I am seeking for a job to live in Seoul, Korea on my own this time around.

I have taught basically all my life. It started with tutoring and extended to teaching students in an organization. That is when I officially can say that I am a teacher. My personality is kind and very patient with students. Although I try to be funny with my students, when they give me a hard time, I always manage to get through the day without hitting or corporally punishing my students. You see my students are Black and Hispanic, two of the worst kinds of students, and I managed to teach them without touching them or striking them. I think that is a skill that shines and I should put here. Other skills include teaching Chemistry or Physics or even Math. My skills are very wide in terms of teaching. I also am good with any Microsoft products and have some knowledge with Java.

Regina: United States: Vassar College: Jun 01, 2018

Regina: United States: Vassar College: Jun 01, 2018

To Whom it May Concern,

My name is Regina Krawiec and I am a recent graduate of Vassar College. I am writing to apply for the position of SAT Teacher in the Summer Vacation Seasonal Temporary category, hoping to tutor Critical Reading/English. I am very enthusiastic about this position and after reading the description I believe I am the perfect candidate for the role.

My tutoring background extends far back into high school when I used to tutor classmates in Mathematics after school. I had taken a series of honors and AP math classes, so by the time I was a Junior I was well equipped to tutor those who were struggling in math. After high school, and having scored a five on the AP Calculus test, I went on to tutor classmates at Vassar beginning in my Freshman year. I distinctly remember a friend reading her Calculus textbook, which was written in a particularly obtuse way, and struggling to grasp the material. I was able to extract the information she needed and offer some clarity on the subject, so that she could understand what was being described. In these instances, I felt a sense of fulfilment that I was able to assist my fellow classmates and discovered that I had a keen ability to explain difficult material. I continued to tutor my classmates during my undergraduate years in subjects beyond Mathematics, including: Chemistry, English Language Arts, Italian, German, French and Classical Music.

Beyond my tutoring abilities, I believe I have an amiable personality that is easy to get along with. I know how to establish an atmosphere in which students feel motivated to do well, and encouraged to ask questions. I understand the importance of this stage in a young person’s life and am excited about the opportunity to lend a helping hand during this challenging period.

Along with my interest in education and tutoring, I also have a keen interest in South Korea. I would love the opportunity to learn more about the country’s rich cultural heritage and experience what South Korea has to offer.

With my tutoring experience and capabilities, and my interest in learning more about South Korea, I believe that I would be an excellent SAT teacher.

Thank you for considering my application.

Best Regards,

Regina Krawiec

I have experience teaching both children and adults in a variety of settings, including one-on-one private tutoring and classroom teaching. Specifically, I taught ESL in South Korea for one year. Currently, I am a graduate teaching assistant at my university where I teach American Government and State and Local Government. In addition to my teaching duties, I also provide private tutoring services to students in political science undergraduate coursework. I also have obtained an internship with a local NGO providing assistance to resettled refugees via K-12 ESL tutoring, adult ESL lessons and adult citizenship classes. Most importantly, I am currently learning Korean; as a second-language learner myself, I understand the difficulties in learning a second language. I can empathize with students and think constructively to provide them with different approaches to understanding best suited to their learning style. I also participate in a program at my university assisting international students with transitioning to life in America, so I believe I could provide valuable advice, particularly to SAT or TOEFL clients.
