저는 국내의 유수 교사와는 차별화 된 이력을 가지고 있습니다.
일찍이 영어공부 및 해외유학에 대한 열정을 키워,청심국제고등학교에 영어 특기자 전형으로 진학한 후 SAT/AP 미국 커리큘럼을 이수하였습니다. 그 후 홍콩대학교에서 (4년 장학생) 교육학을 깊게 공부하면서 21세기 교육자로서의 마인드와 철학, 그리고 비전을 쌓아 왔습니다.

졸업 후 홍콩한국국제학교에서 원어민 영어교사로 3년동안 교편을 잡아 오며 중고등학생을 대상으로 영어 과목 (debate coach and writing), 토플과 SAT (Reading and Math)를 꾸준히 지도해 왔습니다. 학교 내의 수요에 따라 최초로 주니어 토플반을 추가 개설, KIS 재학생들이 성공적으로 국내대학 특례전형 및 외국대학에 진학하도록 대학카운셀러의 역할도 맡아 왔습니다. 제 교직경력에서 배운 수많은 소중한 교훈들 중 단연 기억에 남는 순간들은 저의 수업과 노력으로 학생들을 감동시켜 그들로부터 진심어린 감사의 말을 들었을 때입니다. 수업자로서의 성의와 열정, 그리고 담임/멘토로서의 그들에 대한 배려가 낳은 상호 교류와 발전은, 제가 택한 전공과 직업에 대한 확신을 심어주었습니다. 단순한 생계수단이 아닌 교육자로서의 책임감 있는 직업 정신 및 수업 철학은 저를 뽑으셔야 하는 명백한 이유들 중 하나입니다.

올 가을에는 더욱 더 교육학에 대한 심도 있는 공부를 위해 하버드대학교 세계교육정책학 석사 프로그램에 진학하게 되었습니다. 인생의 설레는 전환을 앞둔 이번 여름, 귀하 학원에서 제가 쌓아온 노하우와 경력을 바탕으로 전략적인 SAT 지도 및 학생들에게 듬직한 멘토로서의 역할을 다 하고 싶습니다. 주어진 업무만 하는 이상의 능동적인 모습으로 열정을 바쳐서 지도하겠습니다.

Hi. I will smile in the next picture and try not to look so mysterious. I am 60 years, but my picture is recent, so yes I do look young. And handsome, if I don't mind saying so myself. So please don't worry about my age. I don't. I am an expert teacher in the English language, and published writer. Sometimes I let my students test me on the meaning of any word in the dictionary. Naturally they pick words from the X-Y-Z sections, but most of the time I win. I am a fun teacher, when I see there is need for it, and I am a serious teacher when I see there is a need for it, also. This comes from experience.

I understand that the SAT is a not only a test, but it is also a competition to find the best students to attend the best colleges in the USA, and I prepare my students not only from an academic point of view, but also from a mental point of view. I understand what US colleges are looking for, and how to give this to them, and this will be an invaluable asset to you.

My wife is Korean, most of my US students are Korean, and I have visited Korea twice, so I am very familiar with how Korean students behave, and what their hard-working parents expect of them.

Personalization is everything. We cannot expect students to be taught the same way like we cannot learn the same way and want to learn the different things. When a teacher teaches you not the way you learn best, then you look for another who will. But I am tenacious, disciplined, and patient. I do not give up on students and pick the best. I do not choose the easy way. As long as I do not give up on a student, they will exceed. I will be the water to their bowl, changing my form as they are shaped. I know my students and that is my strongest strength.

I would like to be considered for an available position as an AP/SAT English instructor. I have experience working in the field for two years, and am currently employed as an ESL instructor in Daejeon with an F-series visa.

I graduated from Cornell University in 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in Government and a minor in French Studies. During my undergraduate career, I had experience working with students as a camp counselor, museum intern, and elementary school tutor. It was during my undergraduate studies that I also had an immersive language experience while I studied abroad in Paris, France. Since moving to Daejeon in August 2016, I have gained valuable experience instructing students between the ages of 6-12. It is by working with students that I have learned effective instruction techniques, lesson planning, and classroom management skills.

I believe that a quality education in a foreign language equips students with the knowledge and confidence to succeed. As a member of your team, would bring my experience and passion as a language instructor. Thank you for your consideration.

I am really good at identifying students needs and weakness in a shoer period of time and improving them in the necessarry areas. I am very easy going and teach in a structured manner. I can explain most terms in Korean as neede by the student.

I have taught in in multiple different countries English, to Children in multiple different age ranges. This means that i am adaptable as a person, to a change in culture and environment, and equipped as a teacher to be sensitive to student's needs and ability. I am bubbly, caring and agreeable as a person. Additionally, I am a conscientious and hardworking individual that sets realistic goals for myself to make a positive difference in whatever field of work I do.

I’m currently working as a Math and Science teacher at a SAT prep school, and I am ready to tackle the challenge of teaching in Korea. I hold a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Virginia Tech, and I have always loved working with kids and helping them succeed in both academics and life. Now, I want to expand my career in teaching by working with students in Korea.

Despite of majoring in Engineering, I realized my passion lies in teaching because I found myself being most passionate, happy, and satisfying when I was helping out others. While in school, I found out that the most effective way of learning is to learn from each other because I would deepen the understanding of subject as I was teaching. Therefore, I was always willing to help my friends if they were to have any problems in Math and Science. So helping out my friends with my specialty subjects was a regular thing for me. I found it very meaningful and satisfying when they complimented how my explanation was very clear and straightforward, and how they were able to succeed in their exams.

Throughout my years in college, I have naturally developed my skills as a teacher by working as a private tutor. When I first started, I never knew I was going to pursue a career in teaching because being a broke college student, I was doing it for some extra cash. The more experience I gained, I realized this is what I can do best, what I find most meaningful, and what I find most satisfying. Now, I am working at a SAT prep school to help students succeed in Math and Science subjects.

Even though I enjoy time explaining the materials to students the most, I also enjoy spending time to bond with the students by talking about their goals, interests, and experience. I have a very easygoing personality so students feel more comfortable asking me anything rather than feeling oppressed during my session. Personally, I see my students as just friends who are bit younger, so we treat each other as friends, so the session is more fun, interactive, and relaxed.

My last work location was at Walt Disney World in the past year just after graduating from university. Among many qualities the company has taught me, being energetic and creative were vital to my personal growth. Creating a learning environment for children of all ages and backgrounds became a core value for me while being in the entertainment industry.

Teaching English, either professionally or privately, was essential in shaping me into an instructor. I held SAT, TOEFL, and English conversation classes to students ranging anywhere from 5 to 16 years old and also helped international students with their school work in America. Working annually as a summer camp counselor through various English camps also gave me the chance to continue my experience as a teacher.

Although I have a Korean passport, I grew up in the U.S. and Canada since I was 7 years old, so English is my native language along with Korean. Having earned the bachelor's degree in English as an honors student in 2017, I hope to further my career in teaching.

As a Korean native, I have strong interests in English communication and education programs that operate globally. Having lived 16 years abroad prior to attending university in Korea, my English proficiency is native level and I can read and write Korean fluently. From my academic years and working experiences, I gained strong communication skills in public presentations, lectures, and am able to maintain cultural sensitivity as well as promote team cohesiveness. I am pragmatic, result-oriented, and driven to develop my career in a global organization that values passion, hard work, and growth
