Born in Guam and raised in different countries, I have been exposed to an English-speaking environment from an early age. Even after me and my family settled down back to Seoul, my parents provided me living abroad in British Columbia, Canada, during vacations.
I moved into UK in 2016 for my Master's and just came back last months after graduated from University College London, which is one the most prominent institutions in the field of education.
I have got experience in Korea in private institute, NLI, as well as in London at Perseid, the main stream school. As a recent master's graduate in Education and working experiences, I believe I am a strong candidate for a position at Qingdao International School.

Jin: Korea: State University of New York – Binghamton: Aug 20, 2018

Jin: Korea: State University of New York – Binghamton: Aug 20, 2018

I have been raised as third culture kid. I was born in South Korea, but I left the country to Hong Kong when I was two years old. I came back to Korea and attended an International School for middle school and high school. I went to New York afterwards for college. I gained a lot of experience with different cultures and growing up as a third culture kid allowed me to broaden my perspective and disable stereotypical judgments. Even though I am very thankful for my educational background that allowed me to explore different cultures, I always had to face identity crisis since I was an "abnormal" Korean citizen. This lead me to come back to Korea and apply to the master's program for the department of Sociology in the Academy of Korean Studies(AKS).
I enjoy being a student, since I know the true joy of being a learner. I also find joy in sharing my knowledge with other people. With this reason, I have tried to be in school because it is a place designed for teachers and students. I have been teaching students in Chung Dam and JLS Jung Sang Language school before I applied for the graduate program in AKS. Even while I was attending classes for my master's program, I continued to tutor during the weekends.
I believe that maintaining a healthy relationship with others is the most important. I am bilingual; therefore, I am capable of communicating with colleagues from different countries. I try my hardest to be a good listener since listening is more important than speaking.
Although I have lived in Hong Kong for many years, I have not been in China before. If I receive an opportunity from QingDao International School, it would be my first to work and live in China. Since I am fully aware of the importance of having good communication skills, I do not think I would have a problem working with and seeking for advice from teachers who are much more experienced than I am. Also, I have been working with elementary through high school kids and I have not experienced any conflicts with the students I have taught. Earning trust form the students is my first priority and I am confident with maintaining good relationships with them and their parents as well.

MARTIN: Canada: UNIVERSITY OF TORONTO: Aug 25, 2018

I am a Canadian born Korean who has been teaching subjects in English to international school students in South Korea for approximately the past 8 years. My students have had success in maintaining their GPAs in the courses that I have worked on with them and many of them now attend IVY league colleges in the U.S.

I attempt to provide a classroom environment that is fun, yet at the same time conducive to learning. Through my eight years I have learned a lot about teaching these subjects and have acquired many useful resources that I apply to my classroom experience. I am quite familiar with the subjects and curriculum of all the subjects I have taught for the various schools and require very little prep time for them.

Min Seok: Korea: Kyung Hee University: Sep 01, 2018

Min Seok: Korea: Kyung Hee University: Sep 01, 2018

Hello, my name is Kim Min Seok currently enrolled in Kyung International College (KIC). Although my major is not in relation to IcT, I started studying Android, Java, and Eclipse IDE since last year by myself. I am currently the CEO of KOCEAN. KOCEAN is a cooperation producing effective, useful applications for foreign travelers. We devote ourselves to come up with brilliant ideas which can make your travel much more convenient in Korea. KOCEAN stands for "KOrea loves you," "Come to Korea," "Enjoy your travel," "Anytime should you Need us, we can help you!" KOCEAN is currently engaging in developing an application named TOONG. TOONG will be available for any foreign travelers coming to Korea. For further information, please visit seok3021.wixsite.com/kocean. I am fluent in speaking English, and have a score of 112 out of 120 on TOEFL. I have spent 2 years of studying in the United States, and have always loved to interact with individuals who have different perspectives on the same issue.
My dream is to develop my company and establish secondary schools which specifically provide IT education to students in Korea. I personally believe, in the era of where the 4th industrial revolution has began, the education system in Korea ought to be changed as well. My personalities are first, I do not know the word “give up,” second, I do not give up from the point that I start, and third I am highly willing to cooperate with others who have different opinions. I have learned the importance of soft-leadership as well as cooperation through various activities such as International Youth Assembly, Model United Nations, and Youth Conference. While discussing global issues with friends who came from around the world, I was able to enhance passion and patience in working. Since I entered middle school, I started getting interested in the international affairs; I would love to do reading, watching news, and analyzing global issues myself. I also enjoy meeting people and having a discussion on international problems; for that reason, I really got into outside activities such as Model United Nations (MUN) and youth diplomatic programs. Most youth conferences including MUN are usually held during the summer or winter time. When I was 14, I got an opportunity to participate in the 4th Korean Youth International Assembly (KYIA), which was held in Seoul. I was nominated as a delegate of China, and the agendas given to us were “Devising feasible, effective methods to deal with international terrorism” and “Devising practical strategies to sanction the governments which support the terrorist groups”. I had really good discussions with multiple people for 3 days; I was also able to learn a lot of knowledge about relevant global issues throughout this conference. The Korea Times, which was the host of the 4th KYIA, told us that they are going to send the resolutions made by the participants to the Ministry of Affairs of Korea. Through the 4th KYIA, in addition, I firmly made up my mind that I want to be a better person in the future; I want to be an individual who can change the world in a positive way.
Since I joined in the 4th KYIA, I looked up more activities in which I can participate to get further experiences and learn how to negotiate with other people. Every summer, I was involved in the MUNs such as Yonsel Model United Nations (YMUN) and the Model United Nations held by Hankuk Academy of Foreign Studies (MIMUN). Everyone whom I met during the conferences inspired me, and I had done a great amount of research to debate with competent participants. My endless endeavors even led me to get an honorable award in the 1st Model International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies General Assembly (MIGA), which was the first general assembly held by Red Cross; we had a discussion about environmental issues including global warming and climate change. Furthermore, I became a vice president of the 7th KYIA as well as an assistant secretary general of the 5th Global Leaders’ Interactive Society MUN (GLIS MUN), which is one of the biggest MUNs in Korea; I took responsibility of not only managing the entire conference, but also educating each delegate. Additionally, I focused on improving the conference's qualities including constructing guideline for beginners and providing enough information prior to the session. Based on my various experiences, I decided to establish the first MUN in Siheung city. I gathered 20 people who were interested in MUN and created Sorea Model United Nations (SOMUN) in my high school; I became the secretary general and led the conference with chairpersons, delegates, and staff.
Besides participating in MUNs, every summer, I also joined diverse diplomatic programs. For instance, I was a youth diplomat of Siheung city; the international department of Siheung city sent me to Singapore for the purpose of exchanging each country’s culture. At a Korean embassy located in Singapore, I had an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet a Korean ambassador, Oh Joon, who became president of United Nations’ Security Council. Moreover, I was selected as a student of Ministry of foreign affairs of Korea; for that reason, I had an opportunity to listen to several lectures taught by a Korean diplomat (I’m sorry, but I forgot his name) once a weekend for one month. Since he was an ambassador working in Brazil, I was able to hear a lot of information associated with foreign affairs that happened in South America. Furthermore, I used to be a member of VANK (Voluntary Agency Network of Korea), which is a cyber diplomatic organization; the main goal of VANK is introducing Korea to the world and promoting cultural exchange through international friendships. I turned in several petitions to both Chinese and Japanese government; I claimed that they have to modify the distorted histories, which they are teaching to their students. For instance, the Japanese government indicates the sea right next to Korea as “Sea of Japan” on the map; Japanese government also proclaims Dok-do, which is a small island located on East sea, is part of Japanese territory. On top off that, Chinese teachers teach that Goguryeo, which was one of the most prosperous dynasties in 5000 years of Korea’s history, was established by the Chinese. They also speak out Bo Hai, which was a dynasty created by Dae Jo Young, who was a major general of Silla, was also established by a Chinese emperor; therefore, they say Bo Hai is not part of Korea’s history. We must recognize that the evidence which both the Chinese and Japanese government have suggested is illogical, and they are distorting the truth. Otherwise, Korea has unequivocal, distinct historical relics which can prove that Goguryeo and Bo Hai were magnificent dynasties established by Koreans; Korea has scientific evidence which can explain why the “Sea of Japan” is a wrong indication and Dok-do is part of Korean territory. Besides these issues, there are numerous historical arguments going on among Korea, China, and Japan; they must be corrected, and the international community has to recognize the indiscretion that both Japanese and Chinese government have committed.
In conclusion, I have participated in diverse activities to become a competent individual in the near future. I always believe the success of negotiation depends on the affirmative relationships between countries; therefore, I want to spread out the positive energy as well as traditional values that Korea has. Throughout diplomacy, I would also like to achieve a successful relationship with the Democratic People’s of Republic of Korea (DPRK); my ultimate goal would be making the Korean peninsula united again. My journey has just began, and I will keep working the endless horizon. Even though the path is not going to be straightforward, I will never give up; instead, I will challenge the obstacles as well as hardships that I am going to have.
