Jonathan: United States: Harvard College: Jan 30, 2018

I'm very experienced and comfortable teaching SAT Critical Reading and Writing, and I believe I can get relate well with students. I'm very results-oriented in ensuring classes focus on getting the highest scores out of students, but I make sure the students enjoy the class as much as possible.

Dongyoung: Korea: University of Queensland: Jan 29, 2018

I had to move around different countries throughout adolescence. I lived about 6 years (Grade 4 to Grade 9) in Houston Texas, and spent about 5 years (grade 11 to 3rd year in Trinity Western University) in Canada. During the time between U.S. and Canada, I had the privilege to learn Korean language and culture more back in Korea. I also got to experience the competitive academic learning atmosphere in well-renowned Ansan Dongsan High School. I did not enjoy the strenuous studying schedule from 7:30am to 10pm every day, but I realized later that this highly competitive environment taught me the academic discipline I needed to achieve further and strengthened my ability to speak and understand Korean at an academic level. I maintained my hard work when I went to Canada. I was able to finish Canadian High School with 90%+ average on all my courses, and achieved 3.81/4.3 overall GPA in my previous university before I received the offer from University of Queensland in Australia for their dentistry program. I believe I have achieved academic success despite my long journey of moving abroad to multiple countries. I have also done my Army service as a proud Korean man, in which I learned to be disciplined as a grown-up. I have an extensive full time/part time working experience in a number of different English academy settings. Moreover, I know I am great with kids. I know how to strictly enforce the rules to bring out the best in each of them yet still be reasonable, impartial, and fair in the way I treat them. Moreover, being bilingual and having experienced both the Korean and North American culture, I can educate them in English adequately and still be approachable for communication in Korean so that students and I are always on the same page without any misunderstanding or misjudgments. I am in need for money to save up as much as I can to pay for the dentistry program, which starts next year. I will display the best possible conduct as a teacher. Thank you for reading.

Anna: United States: University of Michigan: Jun 01, 2018

I am an energetic individual with a love for learning and life as a student. Over the past year in various programs, I have been fortunate enough to assume the classroom role of instructor and make information accessible to my students. I have a strong understanding of teaching English as a foreign language and the difficulties associated with mastering a second language. Although my experience is primarily in ESL teaching, I also have a degree in science with a thorough understanding of all the subdivisions of science and their associated curriculum.

Ho Yeon: Korea: Yonsei University: Mar 01, 2018

In the fall semester of 2016, I got a chance to host a free semester program at Sindorim Middle School by chance. When I first experienced free semester course, I remembered that I had to make all the teaching activities and learning materials, so I had to go through trial and error. I worried a lot about how to learn English effectively to children in the first grade of middle school. I prepared a variety of small group activities and class activities to lead the student participation center based on my experience teaching at my English academy. I looked for a lot of information about how everybody could learn when they had a lot of knowledge and understanding in the classroom. I realized that my thinking was lacking after the first class that I wanted to study English almost. As most of the classes were taught in English, most of the students did not actively participate in the classes. As I was leading the class by myself, many of my children lack clear understanding of the class contents and failed to attract interest. After that, I used both English and Korean in my class and proceeded with my class. Surprisingly, more students attended the class than in the first class, and a few students with a passive attitude showed an aggressive attitude toward the class. In the first class, I set the level of difficulty to be too high for students when preparing English materials, and many students showed a passive attitude toward classroom activities. After noticing these problems, I controlled the difficulty of learning materials and modified it into an activity to increase student participation. Discussion classes and collaborative learning enabled many students to participate in the classes. When organizing a group to promote collaborative learning, we first grouped and taught similar students, and then later changed the group composition to students with diverse learning abilities. As a result, we were able to see more aggressive learning outcomes and discover learning processes to help each other.
