It is with great enthusiasm that I submit my resume in consideration for a position as an ESL instructor at your institution. I have earned the 120 hour TESOL certification through Oxford Seminars, and graduated in May, 2015 with a Bachelor of Linguistics Degree from Dalhousie University. Given my solid, exemplary academic achievements throughout my education, recent teacher certification, my teaching experience and sincere interest in teaching gifted young adults, I believe I'm an excellent fit.
I have been trained in designing and composing thematic study units that facilitate learning of the English language. I can implement lesson plans in order to facilitate instruction in English learning from early childhood to adulthood as I understand the functionality of language immersion in classrooms and how it effects students. I offer technical expertise, enthusiasm, commitment, and purpose.
I thrive in challenging and collaborative environments, and it is these qualities that attract me to a teaching career. Throughout my student career at Dalhousie University, I maintained a good grade point average while also working full time as a customer experience representative at Indigo Books and Music, and part time as an ESL instructor at Halifax Public Library. I gained valuable experience and expertise through these opportunities and truly understand the importance of hard work. These experiences, paired with the last three years of teaching in Korea, have prepared me for any ESL teaching position. As a visionary, results-driven educator, my goal is to inspire students to succeed while forming positive relationships with my colleagues to achieve the institutions goals.
I am eager for the opportunity to teach at your institution. I believe that my strong academic background in Linguistics and my TESOL certification will complement any ESL teaching position. I have included my resume and contact information. I would be delighted to meet with you at your convenience. Thank you for your consideration, and I look forward to sharing how my experiences might benefit the students and families.
